We’re only four episodes into the newest season of 9-1-1, and the hit FOX drama series is already making us feel so, so many things.
From the aftermath of Harry’s kidnapping; to Maddie’s unexpected disappearance shortly after giving birth to her and Chimney’s newborn daughter Jee; and new 9-1-1 events as the first responders come to the aid of multiple deadly emergencies…Monday night’s brand new episode of 9-1-1 left us all on the edge of our seats.
The ‘9-1-1’ Team Faces a Devastating Scene
The episode begins shortly after the 9-1-1 team faced a debilitating blackout that took over the city. We now see our favorite 9-1-1 players as they deal with the aftermath of a variety of events.
The Monday night episode found members of the 9-1-1 team responding to multiple injuries and deadly consequences after a runaway truck plows into a homecoming parade float.
Henrietta (Hen) Wilson who is portrayed by Aisha Hinds, and Ryan Guzman’s Eddie Diaz work as a team responding to the accident. Rescuing the victims from the debris.
Meanwhile, Buck (Oliver Stark) and Peter Krause’s Bobby Nash focus on helping a teacher who is pinned down within the crash’s aftermath.
A Tragic Mix-Up
When the 9-1-1 first-responders return to the medical center after the tragedy, Hen finds herself in a very difficult position involving a devastating mix-up.
The identities of two teenage girls have been flipped. And the team initially breaks to news of one girl’s death to the wrong set of parents. Hen notifies the families of the mistaken identity, once she identifies the mistake, telling one family that the daughter they thought had survived, in fact, did not.
The moment is a heartbreaking one as Hen speaks with the family. The same family who had initially thanked her for saving their daughter’s life in the deadly accident.
Harry Deals With His Feelings
Harry, meanwhile is still suffering the after-effects of his kidnapping. He doesn’t want to return to his mother’s home. The place from where he was taken.
Henry’s older sister, May, however, helps him work through some of his fears. Telling Harry that it’s important to talk about his feelings, and not bottle them up.
Meanwhile, Chimney (Kenneth Choi) continues to struggle after Maddie unexpectedly left him and their newborn daughter. His focus is on trying to figure out where exactly things went wrong with them.
Eventually, Chimney learns that Maddie had spoken to her brother, Buck (Stark) prior to leaving. However, Buck withheld the information from Chimney at Maddie’s request.
Chimney’s reaction to the news is less than ideal as he punches Buck out of anger.
Chimney eventually gets a lead as to where Maddie has gone. He decides to pack up and set off to find Maddie with the couple’s newborn daughter, Jee.
