‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Actor Rob Lowe Gets Some Sleep in a Weird Spot

Rob Lowe finds a place to get some sleep, but not an expected one.

Actor Rob Lowe surprised his Instagram followers with three new photos: Two of him sleeping in a car with an adorable Jack Russel Terrier pup, and one of him and the dog sitting on the side of a firetruck. With his hand around the dog, Lowe flashed a slight smile to the camera.

The caption reads: “before and after: on the way to work vs. at work!” His caption also suggests the pictures of him sleeping in a car were taken on his way to set. The picture with the fire truck was taken while on the set of 9-1-1 Lone Star.

Comments on the actor’s post reveal admiration for his pup and excitement for the next season of the show.

What is ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ About?

The hit Fox TV show centers around the police, fire, and ambulance departments of a fictional emergency service company. It first premiered on January 19, 2020. Tthe show is a spin-off of another hit FOX series titled, 9-1-1. Both series were created by writer, director, and producer, Ryan Murphy. The show was recently picked up for a third season, which is to be premiered on January 3, 2022.

Rob Lowe plays main cast member, Owen Strand. Owen is a firefighter captain who was diagnosed with lung cancer after being on the job during the September 11 attacks close to twenty years ago. The tragedy also cost Owen his entire firefighting squad. After moving to Austin, Texas with his son, he works to save the lives of the others around him. Austin is also the filming location of the hit drama/action series.

Rob Lowe’s Earlier Years

The 64-year-old is no stranger to the acting. He began acting in the mid-seventies in theatrical productions in school. Some of these productions were paid Lowe for participating.

He earned titles of actor, producer, and director.

Since his earlier acting days, Lowe has continued acting on big and small screens. His breakout acting role was in the 1983 movie, The Outsiders. Of course, he famously played Sodapop Curtis. The film earned him the title of teen idol.

Aside from acting in movies and television shows, Lowe made appearances in music videos and video games. In 1984, the former teen idol was in The Go Gos music video for their song, “Turn on You.” In 1996, he was in the live action video game, “Fox Hunt.”

Over the years, the actor has been rewarded with the Satellite Award for Best Cast – Television Series, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Lowe’s younger brother, Chad Lowe, followed in his brother’s footsteps. He has appeared in many television films and series episodes. Chad is also known for his role as Byron Montgomery in the hit ABC Family drama, Pretty Little Liars.
