9-1-1: Lone Star actor Sierra McClain recently discussed Grace’s new venture into parenthood. The hit series about first responders living in Austin, Texas is finally on its way back, and in a new teaser for the show, the actors talk about how the season is going to unfold.

Aside from a very dangerous start with “mammoth” stakes, the 126 and the rest of the characters also deal with personal developments.

“Judd and Grace find out that they’re going to be new parents. It seems like it’s always one thing after the other,” she explains in the preview. How this is going to impact Grace and Judd’s relationship is hard to say at this point, but they look pretty tense in the teaser.

The new season is going to bring a lot of new action, new cases, and new guest stars.

If you want to check out the teaser for the show, you can see it all play out below:

9-1-1: Lone Star will return on Monday, January 3rd at 8/7 Central on Fox. This takes over 9-1-1’s timeslot as the parent show is going on a hiatus until at least march. If you’re a fan of 9-1-1 and haven’t checked out 9-1-1: Lone Star, it’s definitely worth it.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Season 3 Opens With an Ice Storm

Season 3 opens with something you’d never want to see in Texas: an Ice storm. Rob Lowe has described the stakes in the ice storm as incredibly high. The storm will cause buildings to collapse and people to fall into freezing waters. It’s going to be absolute chaos.

The premiere episode is fittingly called “The Big Chill.” Here’s what the synopsis says:

“An unexpected arctic cold front brings an ice storm to Austin and a variety of weather-related emergencies. Meanwhile, Owen deals with the fallout of the 126 closing, as Tommy, T.K., and Gillian settle into new employment and Judd and Grace prepare for the birth of their first baby,” it reads.

Not only will the storm complicate things for the first responders professionally, but it could also complicate things for Gillian’s pregnancy. If something happens or she goes into labor during the freeze, it’ll be hard to get her access to the care she needs.

This is another episode where the writer’s room took inspiration from a real-life event. Last winter, Austin was heavily impacted by a freeze that caused major damage across the state of Texas. The power outages and lack of preparedness in the infrastructure caused multiple casualties.

Hopefully, all of the characters will come out of the premiere episode alive and well. Even though the preview makes it look very dicey. Unfortunately, We won’t know anyone’s fate for sure until January 3rd.
