‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Brings the Heat With Photos Celebrating Male Cast

by Joe Rutland

Sharing some photos of male cast members of 9-1-1: Lone Star might be the tonic for some Outsiders who are fans of the show.

So, for your viewing pleasure, here are some photos that the show’s Twitter account sent out on Monday.

Among the show’s male cast members are Rob Lowe, Ronen Rubenstein, Jim Parrack, Brian Michael Smith, and Rafael Silva.

If you are looking for 9-1-1: Lone Star on FOX right now, then you will be disappointed. The spin-off’s Season 3 kicks off on Monday, Jan. 3, at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central.

Why does the show have “Lone Star” in its title? Because the spin-off takes place in Austin, Texas. Lowe plays Owen Strand, who is a captain and firefighter from New York City. He has been diagnosed with cancer as a result of being one of those who were first responders on Sept. 11.

Strand lost his entire firehouse on that day, so he and his son T.K., played by Rubenstein, head to Texas.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Actor Tells Story Of Meeting A Former Secretary of State

If you have ever watched Rob Lowe on a talk show, then you know the guy has a lot of interesting stories.

This one is a doozy, Outsiders.

Before his time on 9-1-1: Lone Star, Lowe also starred in The West Wing. So, they were filming one night and a now-former secretary of state came by to visit.

The online rumor mill spit out that Madeleine Albright once yelled at the cast and crew of The West Wing. Why? They were having a very loud late-night party. Albright showed up and chastised writers for not having a secretary of state character on the series.

Is all of this true, Rob? “Madeleine Albright absolutely came to the set, very very late,” Lowe said in an interview on the YouTube series, Hot Ones.

She didn’t visit them, though, in anger. Albright was simply a fan of the series.

Lowe said, “We were shooting at the [John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts]. She wanted to meet everybody.”

Actress Lisa Edelstein Offers Her Opinion On Why Show Is Beloved

Obviously, a spin-off like this series can get a sweet boost from its OG show.

Yet is this show beloved? Actress Lisa Edelstein, who plays Gwyn Morgan, thinks so.

Last January, she chatted with StarryMag. From her perspective, 9-1-1: Lone Star puts catastrophes out like wrapped gifts with a bow on top.

“I think [the show is] disaster porn,” Edelstein said. “People like seeing disasters that get resolved every twelve minutes. Especially right now, as we have had one big slow-rolling disaster for almost a year.”

So, Outsiders, you will get a chance to see this spin-off from 9-1-1 return in January.
