9-1-1: Lone Star showrunners announced last spring that the popular series would premier mid-season rather than in the fall. Since then, it has seemed like forever as we wait to be reunited with our favorite Lone Star characters.

This change became even more apparent as Lone Star’s parent series, 9-1-1 premiered this fall without 9-1-1: Lone Star airing immediately after, as it has in the past.

However, time has flown by, as it often does. And we are getting closer and closer to 9-1-1: Lone Star’s January 2022 season three premiere.

As fans of the popular Fox drama series gear up for the newest season, it’s easy to begin imagining what 9-1-1: Lone Star has in store for some of our favorite characters. Primarily, one of our favorite primetime couples, T.K. and Carlos.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Couple Will Face Some Big Choices

When the second season of the popular Fox series came to an end, fans saw Rafael Silva’s Carlos move in with T.K. who is played by Ronen Rubinstein after Carlos’s house burns down.

This is clearly a big step for the couple. And fans are beginning to wonder: does this mean there is an even bigger step – like a proposal – in the cards for Carlos and T.K.?

According to 9-1-1: Lone Star showrunner Tim Minear, the couple have some other things to face before they get to the point of a proposal. However, the executive producer notes, the idea isn’t totally off the table.

“I don’t know if there will be a proposal next season,” Tim Minear says of the 9-1-1: Lone Star couple.

“I’m not saying there will be; I’m not saying there won’t be,” the executive producer continues.

Minear adds that there is likely going to be quite a bit of other things happening within the couple’s world. Things that the couple will be dealing with before a proposal is likely even considered.

“I think we sort of hinted at the fact that they’re probably staying with Owen (Rob Lowe), along with Mateo (Julian Works) right now,” Minear says of the prime-time couple.

Some Characters Have A Lot To Consider

The executive producer adds that this will bring a few issues among the 9-1-1: Lone Star characters. Especially since Owen isn’t entirely used to sharing his living space.

“For a minute, Owen had nobody that he was living with,” he explains. “And suddenly it’s like a frat house over there probably.”

Because of this, Minear adds, “T.K. and Carlos’s first big step will probably be trying to decide if they want to continue living together. And then, if they do, the couple need to begin searching for their own place.”

“When we come back in, Carlos and T.K. will have found a new place or will be looking for a new place,” Minear notes.
