9-1-1: Lone Star fans are pondering the future for Brian Michael Smith. This is after a crazy cliffhanger that left his character, Paul Strickland, in a perilous situation. During the final moments of 9-1-1: Lone Star’s season three premiere, we saw Strickland get trapped. He was trying to save people during a devastating snowstorm.
He’s trapped, and it’s going to be a race against the clock to free him on time. The freezing temperatures are going to make things much, much harder.
It’s definitely not a done deal that we’re going to have to say goodbye to Strickland. Its going to be a tense episode. But there’s still plenty of hope he’ll get out on time and no indication from Brain Michael Smith’s part that he’s leaving the show. The show has thrown us through the ringer plenty of times and made fans believe they were going to lose some key characters that eventually pulled through.
Even last season, there was a good chunk of time where it appeared Judd and Grace were going to get killed off. But they pulled through, and Strickland definitely can now too.
Overall, it’s too early to call whether or not Smith will continue on the show. But it’s likely this isn’t the last we’ll see of him.
The ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Just Opened up About the Direction of Another Character
Fans are worried about Paul Strickland. But many are also curious about the direction main character Owen Strand is going to go. He’s not doing well after the dissolution of Firehouse 126. Now, we find an Owen Strand that’s doing everything but facing his problems.
He’s retreated. And he’s kind of given up,” Showrunner Tim Minear told TV Insider. “The thing that interested us coming into Season 3 is that we didn’t want what happened at the end of Season 2 to not have ramifications, to not have reverberations.
It also looks like there are some major things there are going to come back to haunt him that we’ll learn about this year. Additionally, it appears that Strand’s past is going to come to light.
“It appears that Owen’s pride is what has kind of kept him from continuing the fight,” he continued. “But what we’re gonna discover going forward is that there may be an even deeper reason that he’s kind of retreated into the hills.”
“But as Marjan said, the universe knows who he is and it knows where he is,” he laughed. “And he is not going to be able to just hide out in a cabin.”
If you want to catch the next episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star and learn Strckland’s fate, you can tune in to Fox on January 10th at 8/7 Central.
