9-1-1: Lone Star is back in 2022. It’s a new year, folks, and new challenges await Rob Lowe’s Owen on the hit FOX show. The season begins with a blizzard-type situation. It’s going to be a difficult situation for the cast of 9-1-1: Lone Star this season headlined by Rob Lowe and company. Well, there is more to that incoming ice storm. Yes, Rob Lowe channeled his best cowboy amid a deadly ice storm in a promo for the episode on his personal Instagram page.

In the post, Lowe wrote, “Tomorrow!! It. Is. ON!!! @911lonestar is back on @foxtv.”

In the video, Lowe is seen moving about the ice storm that looks rather deadly for Austin. He’s also rocking a cowboy hat and looks to be in a bit of a jam at some point in the new episode.

Folks are ready for the return of the show. One fan wrote, “Oh my. That hat!!! You need to wear a hat more often.”

Another fan wrote, “Can’t wait loving the cowboy look Rob.”

Rob Lowe on Playing Owen

Lowe is back as Owen this winter. Fans are excited to see where the character goes next with the ice storm being next on his list of things to tackle in 2022. However, what did Rob Lowe think of playing the role to this point?

Rob Lowe told EW, “There’s an emotional side to playing Owen. My character is the only guy in his New York firehouse who survived 9/11. That informs every decision and how he views life. It’s been very emotional and fraught, wanting to honor it in a way that doesn’t feel like we’re “using” it. Then the physicality of the role: I broke a rib last week, and this week I have to rescue someone who’s drowning in a grain silo. There’s no rest in sight. This is one of those shows that will kick your ass both mentally and physically.”

Owen’s situation is different. He was there for 9/11, so his perspective is different than everyone else’s. He is constantly working and constantly looking to help. It’s tough for Owen both internally and externally. The difference though is that grind never ends.

Rob Lowe added, Yes! You’re going to go on a propulsive journey that is emotional as well as physical. You better fasten your seat belts, because it is coming at you.” It’s a journey for Rob Lowe and his character of Owen. It’s still early in the program and a lot is still to be done.

You can watch Rob Lowe and the new very cool new season of 9-1-1: Lone Star on FOX.
