When 9-1-1: Lone Star hits Fox’s airwaves after the first of the year, two former stars on Angel will be guest stars.

Yes, Outsiders, you read that right. Let’s get some details about this with an assist from TV Insider.

Julie Benz and Amy Acker will be on in separate episodes for the Fox first-responder show. Benz appears in the Season 3 premiere on Jan. 3; Acker pops up in Episode 5 on Feb. 7.

Who will these actresses play on 9-1-1: Lone Star? Benz plays Sadie, who is an artist, outdoorswoman, and lives next door to Owen, played by Rob Lowe.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Will Have Acker Playing Her Character In Multiple Episodes

Executive producer Tim Minear says, “Sadie is there for this first adventure [of the ice storm hitting Austin], and she absolutely could come back at some point. Owen and Sadie are not really a romantic coupling so much as two formidable self-assured people who find each other in a moment of crisis.”

Acker on 9-1-1: Lone Star plays Catherine, who is chief of staff to the governor of Texas. Catherine is described as an alpha, accomplished, beautiful, and formidable. So her character is lined up to make multiple appearances in episodes.

“She’s in the political world in sort of a rarified space,” Minear says. “She’s somebody who will come into Owen’s orbit.”

He adds that the two have an instant connection, and their dynamic is super fun and sexy.”

Season 2’s Final Moments Probably Will Play Role In How Show Starts Off

Benz’s TV credits include the aforementioned Angel (as Darla), On Becoming a God in Central FloridaHawaii Five-0, and Dexter. In addition to playing Fred (then Illyria) on Angel, Acker’s credits include SuitsThe Gifted, and Person of Interest.

When Season 2 of 9-1-1: Lone Star ended, Firehouse 126 was shut down. Owen punched the person delivering the news: Billy Tyson, played by Billy Burke, Austin’s next Deputy Fire Chief.

You might recall, too, that Owen turned down the job.

The Season 3 premiere pops on Fox on Monday, Jan. 3, at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central.

Meanwhile, ahead of its midseason return, 9-1-1: Lone Star promoted two young actors, Kelsey and Skyler Yates, to series regulars.

The two sisters weren’t on the show for a while in order to film Disney’s Peter Pan. After that, they returned and will join the regular cast members.

This good news was shared in a tweet from their talent agency.

“After a break to film Disney’s Peter Pan, Kelsey & Skyler Yates are returning to Lonestar. We are extremely excited to announce that these superstars are now series regulars on Fox’s 9-1-1: Lonestar! These girls are doing big things and we are incredibly proud!”
