Let’s get down to a serious matter on 9-1-1. Who would actor Peter Krause consider “Mama Bear and Papa Bear” in the cast?
So Krause, who plays Bobby Nash on the FOX first-responder drama, offered his thoughts in an interview with Us Weekly.
“For my own self, I think that Bobby’s in a really good place,” Krause said in January 2021 ahead of the show’s Season 4 premiere. “He’s able to be the papa bear to everybody at work and also be a good husband to Athena, a good friend to Michael, and a good stepdad.”
Angela Bassett plays Athena Grant-Nash on 9-1-1. Bobby and Athena both have roles with the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department, respectively.
Both actors have been a part of the show since its first season. In fact, Bassett is one of the show’s executive producers.
Other 9-1-1 cast members include Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Ryan Guzman.
Catch the next episode on Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central, on FOX.
‘9-1-1’ Star Kenneth Choi Calls Show a ‘Dream’ To Be On
Kenneth Choi plays Chimney on 9-1-1 and loves being a part of the show.
Recently, Choi was talking to TV Insider about a plot twist he and his then-girlfriend Maddie Buckley, played by Hewitt, were going to experience. So he took the opportunity to talk about what he truly loves about the series.
Choi said that “this show has a wonderful mix of high-intensity action sequences, tear-jerking dramatic moments, and light humor. As an actor, it’s a dream to play with all these different colors especially in one episode.”
He was talking about an episode called What’s Your Grievance. It revolved around a secret Maddie’s family was keeping from her brother, Buck, played by Oliver Stark. The episode ran in February.
Choi said that “Chimney is straddling that precarious line of honoring his friendship with Buck and honoring his promise to Maddie. Absolute conflict of interests!”
Oliver Stark Says Everyone Does Their Best To Present Realism in Roles
When bringing up different scenarios on 9-1-1, Oliver Stark really wants audiences to know that the show works to bring realism to TV.
Stark said that it was created to tribute those first responders like Evan Buckley, his character, who put their lives on the line.
In a 2020 interview with Assignment X, Stark talked about a connection with first responders. He also talks about what it means to the cast on 9-1-1 to portray those frontline workers.
“We’re trying our best to give a really honest depiction of what it’s like to be a first responder,” Stark said.
