When it comes to surprising even the cast of 9-1-1, well that happened in one moment during a recent critical episode.

Peter Krause, who plays Bobby Nash on the FOX first-responder drama, talks about it in May 2021 with Yahoo!

This event revolves around firefighter Eddie Diaz, played by Ryan Guzman. In the Season 4 finale from May 2021, a sniper shoots Eddie.

Krause says that the cast did not know about the twist in the script.

“I was really surprised,” he says. “When the script came out at work, everyone was looking at each other speechless, wondering what was going on and what was going to happen. There are a lot of shootings in this country, and I can guarantee you that [showrunner] Tim Minear will handle this in the finale in the sensitive way that he does.”

In case you were wondering, the 9-1-1 Season 4 finale was filmed. Eddie does survive getting shot.

The show continues to roll along as it anchors FOX’s Monday night schedule.

‘9-1-1’ Star Says First-Responder Show Is Not Like Other Procedural Ones

People who tune into 9-1-1 have seen plenty of TV shows over the years that feature fire departments or police officers.

Viewers might see them as procedural shows. Why? Because they follow a certain structure and usually have an ending that viewers are familiar with already.

But, in an interview with Us Weekly, Krause explains why 9-1-1 isn’t like any other show.

“It’s not a strict procedural, you know?” Krause said. “I always think of it as a comic book about first responders come to life. You could easily take some of the shots and some of the storylines of 9-1-1, put it into a comic book form and it would make perfect sense.”

Last season, Krause’s Bobby Nash was going through it. He almost dies in a fire which was caused by a lunatic.

Krause Co-Star Kenneth Choi Had Key Role In Blockbuster Movie

“For my own self, I think that Bobby’s in a really good place,” Krause said. “He’s able to be the papa bear to everybody at work and also be a good husband to Athena, a good friend to Michael, and a good stepdad.”

Krause’s Nash is married to Athena Grant-Nash, played by Angela Bassett.

Now one of Krause’s co-stars was in a major movie along with Matthew McConaughey.

Kenneth Choi, according to IMDb, played Chester Ming in The Wolf of Wall Street.

During an interview with NextShark, Choi talks more about his character.

“Chester Ming is a bit of an enforcer of Leo [DiCaprio’s] character,” Choi explained. “So it was important for him to have some real heft.” DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort in the movie.
