Don’t mind “9-1-1” cast member Aisha Hinds if she glows with joy over having the FOX TV show filmed in her home of Los Angeles.

Hinds, who plays paramedic Henrietta “Hen” Wilson opposite Angela Bassett and Peter Krause, offered her two cents on the topic in a 2018 interview with Assignment X.

“I am,” she said. “Nothing has made me happier. Because Los Angeles is now my home. So nothing makes me happier than being home, working at home, and actually doing a show that takes place here, so that I don’t have to think too deeply about where I am [laughs].”

Besides “9-1-1,” other TV shows Hinds has appeared on include “NYPD Blue,” “ER,” “CSI: NY,” “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” “Law & Order: SVU” and “Under the Dome.”

‘9-1-1’ Star Wants Viewers To Know That Show Is ‘A Tribute To Our First Responders’

Outsiders can look for her on these shows when their episodes are in rerun land. What, though, would Hinds like people to know about “9-1-1” right now? She offers a reply.

“That it’s an amazing show, and it’s a tribute to our first responders,” she said. “I think it celebrates them, their lives, and the work that they do. We sort of take them for granted, but we want them to know that we do not take them for granted. And so hopefully audiences will join us in celebrating the work that they do.”

Bassett plays Los Angeles Police Department patrol Sergeant Athena Grant-Nash. Krause portrays Los Angeles Fire Department Station 118 Captain Robert “Bobby” Nash. He’s married to Athena in the show, too.

“9-1-1” airs on FOX on Monday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central. The drama is in its fifth season and has produced a spin-off, “9-1-1: Lone Star” with Rob Lowe in the lead role.

Hinds Makes It Really Clear That She Loves Working With Angela Bassett On Drama

Aisha Hinds will tell anyone who will listen that she’s unabashedly a fan of costar Angela Bassett.

The “9-1-1” actress believes having Bassett as one of the drama’s executive producers is helpful.

“Absolutely,” Hinds said. “And it’s also helpful that it is Angela Bassett. Because obviously, as an African-American woman and an actor, she’s one of those people that is the mother of the Holy Grail for me.”

Hinds also said she’s grown up watching her act in different roles. She calls it “an absolute privilege” to be in Bassett’s presence and just watch her work.

Many who watch the hour-long drama would agree with that assessment. Fans of the award-winning actress also dig observing someone of her caliber work on weekly television. Outsiders include themselves in a similar group, too.
