9-1-1 fans are wondering if the show will have a crossover event with 9-1-1: Lone Star when the show finally returns in march. Many are hoping to see Rob Lowe’s Lone Star character come on to the show in 2022. There’s been talk of a crossover event between the two shows bigger than the 9-1-1 characters going to Austin last year.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, Showrunner Tim Minear explained that the two shows will need to sync up timeline-wise because they are, in fact, planning a crossover event.
“They need to be on the same timeline because I do think that there is probably in a crossover in the future there,” Minnear teased. This crossover event would be the big one that they had planned before the pandemic, a two-parter that really sees both teams working together.
And he won’t give away whether or not the crossover event would take place in both locations.
“It’s too soon to answer that,” He said of the crossover plans. He also noted that he’s “looking forward to seeing other characters get to cross paths because those different combinations are very exciting.”
There’s no doubt that one of those characters will be Rob Lowe’s Lone Star character, Owen. It’ll be fun to see how he gets along with members of the 118 that he hasn’t met before. Many fans are curious to see he and Bobby get to work together.
Fans are Also Pondering the Return of a ‘9-1-1’ Character
On top of hoping that the 9-1-1 characters will get a visit from Owen and the Lone Star team, fans are also curious about whether or not Albert will return and if he’ll take on a bigger role. Albert Han, Chimney’s half-brother, is also a firefighter. And it seems like fans really like Albert, so it would be a welcome development.
In an earlier episode this season, Albert mentioned that he isn’t exactly a firefighter right now, or he doesn’t feel one right now. Saying that all he really does is chores instead of actually going out on calls. Some are wondering if this hints that Albert is about to take on a higher role in the series.
It depends on whether or not actor John Harlan Kim can be available to do it as he’s busy with Nancy Drew. But the 118 does seem pretty short-staffed right now. Some hope it’s time for Albert to step up.
It’ll be a while until 9-1-1 returns. It won’t come back to TV until March. But in the meantime, you can catch 9-1-1: Lone Star when the season finally premieres on Monday, January 3rd at 8/7 central on Fox.
