‘Alaskan Bush People’ Alum Matt Brown Wishes Fans Merry Christmas Separate from Family

by Quentin Blount

Former Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown may not be getting along with his family right now, but he is still enjoying the holiday season.

38-year-old Matt Brown is the oldest of the seven Brown children. However, Matt has not made an appearance on Alaskan Bush People for quite some time now. He became estranged from his parents while battling substance abuse several years ago. He first entered rehab back in 2016 for alcohol addiction.

Since that time, however, Matt Brown has been doing his own thing. While the rest of his family continues to make episodes of Alaskan Bush People, Matt is living by himself and making videos for his own fans on social media. Speaking of which, Matt just made a new video on Christmas Day.

“Good morning from here, friends, afternoon, evening, or night, depending on your time zone,” Brown begins the video. “And a very Merry Christmas.”

Matt Brown may be living alone, but by the looks of it, he is enjoying the holiday with himself. As a matter of fact, Brown spoke about everything he did on Christmas this year including watching Christmas movies and even building a snowman.

“So, check it out — I built a Frosty the snowman last night,” he said. “It wasn’t easy, the snow here is kind of powdery and wouldn’t stick together very well. So, what I did, I discovered that if I added water to it I could get it to mix right.”

The camera then pans over to the snowman.

“Say hi, Frosty!” Brown says. He then puts his arm around the snowman and gets in the frame like he’s about to take a selfie.

Former ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Star Celebrating the True Meaning of Christmas

Matt Brown is looking to end the year 2021 on a high note. The Alaskan Bush People alum has had his fair share of ups and downs, but he is currently happy and healthy, and that’s what matters. Despite his good health and high spirits, he wasn’t able to sleep well the night before Christmas.

“Did not get to sleep early last night,” Brown continued. “I guess after like 39 years of Christmases I’m just not made to go to sleep early on Christmas Eve night. I had milk and cookies, a really good night. I opened one of my Christmas presents. And yeah, I’m doing really good out here.”

In addition to all of that, Brown made sure to pass along the real reason he celebrates.

“Today is the day that baby Jesus came here to Earth to bring salvation to all of us. The message of forgiveness, hope, love, and peace. And that’s what I intend to celebrate today.”
