Get ready for some wild footage. “Alaskan Bush People” star Matt Brown has a new trail cam.

Moreover, in a video, Brown took his Instagram followers on a brief tour of his trail cam location, which he called “a lovely little spot” for local wildlife.

“I’ve had it set up here for about a day,” Brown explained. “See those little tunnels? There are ground squirrels, or groundhogs, that live here. And there’s a little like town of them that live underneath this pile of holes dug up under this hill. So I can hardly wait to get home and see what kinda footage I got.”

“hi friends… check it out, I got a trail can for my videos,” Brown also posted to Instagram.

Matt Brown Is Estranged from Rest of ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Clan

Brown left the Discovery reality show in 2019. But since then, he has lobbed some incendiary charges at the rest of his family. He has spoken out about his late father, Billy Brown, in particular.

In a video posted to Instagram last spring, the eldest Brown son told his followers that his family had been masquerading as survivalists for the cameras. Actually, he said, they use plenty of modern conveniences. He also alleged that his father took nearly $360,000 that was rightfully his and withheld that money from him.

“I’m cold, and I don’t have any money. And I hardly have anything to eat,” Brown said in the video.

What’s more, Brown alleged that his battles with drug addiction were made worse by his involvement with “Alaskan Bush People,” where producers gave him drugs, he said.

However, Brown’s younger brother, Bear, has pushed back against those allegations. In his own Instagram post, Bear wrote, “None of it is true! It’s heartbreaking that he would say such horrible lies about Da just a few months after he passed away! I pray he can find the peace and serenity in his life that he needs. God bless everyone!”

Brown Family Patriarch Died Earlier This Year

Billy Brown died this past February after having a seizure. He was 68.

The family patriarch had been struggling with health problems in the months leading up to his death. Toward the end, he had defied doctors’ orders that he move to a lower altitude after he experienced difficulty breathing. Doctors reportedly believed that was due to heart problems rather than any issue with his lungs.

Brown was determined to stay put. But while he was in the hospital his kids did try to move his trailer a bit farther down the mountain where it was perched.

Billy passed away surrounded by family. And as Bear said in an Instagram post, he lived and died on his own terms.

“We are devastated to hear of Billy Brown’s sudden passing,” a spokesperson for Discovery said in a statement at the time. “He has been part of the Discovery family for years. [He was] a trailblazer, a lovely man and most definitely one of a kind. Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”
