‘American Pickers’ Star Danielle Colby Celebrates Her Best Self with Stunning Photo

by Michael Freeman

American Pickers star Danielle Colby regularly posts to Instagram with costumes and burlesque outfits. Her latest one is no different, but also includes a bit of motivation and Colby celebrating her best self.

Colby’s latest pic may not be as flashy as her recent cat or “phantom” ones, but it makes a statement nonetheless. Taking to Instagram, she quotes C. Joybell C. and is seen standing in the middle of a road. Her positioning there is definitely intentional, as the caption asks viewers who they are and want to be.

The caption begins “The person in life that you will always be with the most, is yourself. Because even when you are with others, you are still with yourself, too! When you wake up in the morning, you are with yourself, laying in bed at night you are with yourself, walking down the street in the sunlight you are with yourself. What kind of person do you want to walk down the street with? “

The next part of her caption continues to quote C. Joybell C and gives followers an idea of who she wants to be. “What kind of person do you want to wake up in the morning with? What kind of person do you want to see at the end of the day before you fall asleep? Because that person is yourself, and it’s your responsibility to be that person you want to be with. I know I want to spend my life with a person who knows how to let things go, who’s not full of hate, who’s able to smile and be carefree. So that’s who I have to be.”

How Danielle Colby and Mike Wolfe First Met

Danielle Colby has been an American Pickers mainstay since the beginning and a show staple now. In fact, her getting on the show is about as appropriate as it gets, with her meeting Mike Wolfe at a garage sale.

Speaking to Freshly Inked, Colby recounted meeting Wolfe way back in 2000. Attending a garage sale, a lamp caught her attention and just as she was about to claim it, Wolfe intercepted her and got it first. Noticing Colby took her time getting to the lamp, he told her “Sorry girl, the time to buy it is when you see it.”

Wolfe was there buying things for his nearby antique store and his demeanor really caught Colby’s eye. “I liked his sass. … We were pretty much inseparable after that,” she said in the interview. Things turned out for the best and to this day, she’s happy with what transpired.

“We are pretty lucky,” she said. “We’re pretty forgiving of each other‘s imperfections and we celebrate each other strengths. It works well for us.”
