With Halloween quickly approaching, everyone is trying to solidify their perfect costume. No one knows how to do this better than “American Pickers” star Danielle Colby. Who better to take the old and make it new than the up-cycle queen herself? In a new Instagram post, Colby shares an outfit inspired by the 1960s flower children. And it would, indeed, make a fantastic Halloween costume.

Sitting on a swing amid a serene backdrop of greenery, the “American Pickers” star shines. The bright colors of her dress fall perfectly into place with the setting around her.

More than that, her smile says it all. She looks perfectly at peace.

“Swinging into #tuesday like 🪂 I love this little outfit. It makes me feel like a flower child. Halloween costume maybe? I have so many ideas!” the star captions the photo.

If she does channel her inner flower child for this year’s Night of the Undead, she’ll be a real showstopper.

“American Pickers” Star Shares Glimpse of Childhood

Though she’s quick-witted, open and a killer negotiator, Colby says she had a very strict upbringing. Before she joined the ranks of the History Channel show, the star wasn’t always so forward.

“The interesting thing is I grew up a Jehovah’s Witness and I had a very, very strict upbringing. So burlesque wasn’t something that was really around for me. I couldn’t be around it. It was new and taboo.”

However, Colby says she took a lot away from her religious background.

“It’s taught me a lot about ego, humanity, kindness, sharing. It also taught me a lot about what I don’t want to be and what I do want to be.”

Since then, the “American Pickers” star has developed a growing interest in burlesque. She’s been very open about this and often shares her ideas and photos online.

“The burlesque journey has really been an interesting one for me. It’s part of my life journey, my relationship with my body and my relationship with sexuality. It’s deep and it really started from a place of anxiety and depression. It really helped me blossom into a person who is less anxious and less depressed.”

Further, under the wings of fellow star Mike Wolfe, Colby learned a lot about what it means to be a professional picker. Having to negotiate deals and speak her mind in the business has led her to be more open about her life and interests. It’s an all-encompassing experience that taught her to keep her values, but to be herself through it all.
