‘American Pickers’ Star Mike Wolfe Snaps Gorgeous Sunrise Photo From Hometown ‘Morning Walk’

by Quentin Blount

Christmas in Le Claire, Iowa? That doesn’t sound so bad. Just ask one of our favorite American Pickers stars Mike Wolfe.

If you have been watching the History Channel’s American Pickers over the years, then you should know who Mike Wolfe is. He has been starring on the popular show since 2010 as one of the hosts. You probably know him as the guy who goes around digging up crazy antiques and treasures out of old barns and sheds. He first got started in the picking industry when he was just four years old and has a particular love for vintage motorcycles.

So, what is the American Pickers star up to in 2021 during the holidays? He is spending time back home in Le Claire, Iowa. Wolfe has lived in the small town for years and even owns several buildings in town. One of his goals is to eventually see the quaint little riverfront community become a tourist destination.

The 57-year-old television star took to social media on Thursday afternoon to post a gorgeous picture along the Mississippi River as it flows through his hometown.

“Morning walk along the shore of the Mighty Mississippi,” Wolfe captioned the photo. “If you’re traveling this holiday season come experience the beauty of our little town… @visitleclaire”

For those out there who don’t know, Le Claire is a city in Scott County, Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was just 4,710. That may seem small — and, of course, it is — but it has grown exponentially since 2000. The population then was just 2,847, making Le Claire one of the fastest-growing communities in the Quad Cities.

A Look Into One of the Latest Projects from ‘American Pickers’ Star

Mike Wolfe has turned into a TV star thanks to the success of American Pickers. But as a result, that means he’s out on the road all of the time. Now he has a soft spot for hotels and Airbnbs, and he decided to create one of his own.

‘Some people may not know but for the past 30 years, I have been selling to designers and devorators,” Wolfe recently said. “It has been a major part of my business. This is the first time that I’ve been able to utilize that experience inside my own space for other people to experience. I’m on the road six months out of the year.”

If anyone is qualified to run an Airbnb, it would definitely be the American Pickers star. He explained what makes him such a good fit to open one up.

“I check-in to alot of hotels and Airbnbs, so I understand what travelers need when they’re looking to relax after a long day in a space that feels like home. This entire project is all about creating an experience in Columbia, not just for a few hours in town, but for a long weekend.”
