During its long television run, “American Pickers” has taken viewers across the United States. It has shown us what valuable items some of us have just lying around. It has also shown us some very interesting pieces that have really excited its creator and host, Mike Wolfe.

As fans of the show are aware, Wolfe typically gives a lot of attention to old motorcycles and classic cars. And one of the motorcycles he once found might just be the coolest one he ever picked. Let’s take a walk down “American Pickers” memory lane and find out what happened.

According to Looper, the motorcycle in question was a 1967 Triumph Bonneville. Wolfe and company came across this impressive find during an episode from the show’s third season titled, “What’s in the Box.”

At this time, the “American Pickers” team also included Frank Fritz. He has since been fired from the popular History Channel series.

‘American Pickers’ Star Finds Rare Motorcycle in a Barn Full of Items

However, during this season three episode, Wolfe and Fritz paid a visit to a man named Paul and they toured his barn. And it was full of a variety of items. So, Wolfe and Fritz began looking for anything interesting. One of the first pieces they spotted was that 1967 Triumph Bonneville. And, luckily for them, the motorcycle was in good condition.

So, what made that 1967 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle so rare? Well, according to Wolfe, such motorcycles were only built for a brief time – from 1959 until 1974. So, it’s not all that surprising that only a few of them remain.

Of course, the “American Pickers” star wanted to purchase this rare motorcycle. At first, Paul said he would sell it to Wolfe for $4,000. If you watch the show, you already know what happened next. Wolfe tried to get a lower price out of Paul. Wolfe then offered him $3,500 for the rare motorcycle. Paul agreed to that offer.

Unsurprisingly, Mike Wolfe took the motorcycle out for a drive before he left Paul’s property. It ran well, must to his joy. He planned to sell this antique bike for $5,000.

The 1967 Triumph Bonneville Isn’t the Only Unique Motorcycle Found by Mike Wolfe

Given all his years and all his stops and all his searches for unique items, it should come as no surprise that the 1967 Triumph Bonneville isn’t the only unique motorcycle discovered by “American Pickers” star Mike Wolfe. There have been others.

One of these was also found in a barn. It was a VW-powered motorcycle built by the legendary Von Dutch. Wolfe was very surprised to come across such an item. And, of course, he decided to make an offer on it. The offer was accepted and Wolfe became the owner of this unique motorcycle.

The bike was so unique, in fact, that Wolfe described it as the “holy grail” of picks.
