‘America’s Got Talent’: Nightbirde Gives Heartbreaking Health Update

Jane Marczewski, AKA “Nightbirde,” broke everyone’s hearts on “America’s Got Talent” when she eventually dropped out due to the severity of her cancer.

The former contestant absolutely astounded the judges and audiences who watched her perform. She even convinced the stoic Simon Cowell to award her his Golden Buzzer, automatically moving her forward to the live show. But unfortunately, Nightbirde couldn’t make any more in-person appearances on “America’s Got Talent” as her leukemia has worsened recently.

According to The U.S. Sun, Nightbirde recently posted an update on her health on her Instagram page. She posted a picture of herself holding an IV pole to her Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Ever seen 85 pounds look so good?”

After she posted the picture, several fans reached out to check in on her and offer their love and support. The “America’s Got Talent” contestant once again took to her Instagram Stories to thank everyone for their kind words.

“Hi, I just want to say thank you so much for all the encouragement, support, and love, from all over the world,” Nightbirde said in the video. “Thanks for believing in me and cheering me on and believing for impossible things.”

She continued, “I’m so glad you guys are along for the ride now. So I’m excited to see what happens if we don’t give up, all of us together. I love you guys.”

It’s been a rough month for Nightbirde in more ways than one. She was planning on attending the live shows and finale on “America’s Got Talent,” but her health prevented it from happening. After the finale aired, she posted a heartbreaking update on Instagram.

“It’s so hard for me to not be on the @agt stage for the finals this week. I bet you never saw someone win so hard and lose so hard at the same time. This isn’t how the story was supposed to go.”

‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge Simon Cowell Lends His Support to Nightbirde

When the finale aired, judge Simon Cowell talked to People about Nightbirde’s heath and why she couldn’t attend the show.

“Unfortunately, she is really ill and could not make the finals,” Cowell told the outlet. “However, it was always her dream for her music to be heard by millions. That’s what’s happened off the back of this.”

On Spotify, the original song Nightbirde sang for her “America’s Got Talent” audition, “It’s OK,” has been streamed more than 4.7 million times.

“We talk about once every two weeks. It was a difficult conversation we had about does she enter the show or not. I know that she was very down,” Cowell continued. “I called her and I said, ‘Honestly if I was in your position, I wouldn’t do it.’ Because you don’t need the stress right now. It’s just not worth it.”

Cowell said she could always reenter the show, or skip right past it and just keep making music.

“You’re not letting anyone down because that’s what she kept saying to me,” Cowell concluded. “You’re not, you’re going to be missed but you’re not letting anyone down.”
