Although she is known for her acting talents on the small and big screens, Betty White is also well known for her love for animals. But what really drew her to those creatures?
According to Fox News, Betty White once revealed that her parents inspired her to love animals. “My mother and dad were big animal lovers, too. I just don’t know how I would have lived without animals around me. I’m fascinated by them — both domestic pets and the wild community.”
Betty White also declared that animals are the most interesting things in the world to her. She stated she actually wanted to be a zookeeper when she was growing up. “I’ve been working with the Los Angeles Zoo for 45 years! I’m the luckiest old broad on two feet because my life is divided absolutely in half. Half animals and half show business. You can’t ask for better than two things you love the most.”
Betty White also admitted the key reasons she loves animals so much. “Animals don’t lie. Animals don’t criticize. If animals have moody days, they handle them better than humans do.”
While she has a love for both animals and show business, Betty White has stated she has other interests in mind. “I try to keep current in what’s going on in the world,” she explained. “I do mental excises and I don’t have any trouble memorizing. My lines because of the crossword puzzles I do every day to keep my mind a little limber. I don’t sit and vegetate.”
