Australia rang in the New Year many hours ago and you know what that means. Our favorite family of zookeepers did too! Bindi Irwin lives at the Australian Zoo with the rest of her family including her husband and their baby, Grace Warrior. Their work as conservationists carries on the legacy of the late and great Steve Irwin who died back in 2006.

Although the zoo will never be the same without him, the surviving Irwins have dedicated all their blood, sweat, and tears to the wildlife center. Bindi took to Instagram earlier today to reflect on the Zoo’s busy 2021 season with an especially powerful video that also stars the rest of the family. And honestly? It’s too good not to share.

Bindi Irwin Starts 2022 Off With Some Inspiration

At the very start of the video, Bindi Irwin’s mother, Terri, shares a pretty sad tale. Following her husband’s death, Terri found out about a horrible betting pool from her friend that seemed to be praying for the family’s downfall. It involved a whole group of people who said the Australian Zoo wouldn’t last a year without Steve. Fortunately, that was far from the case as you’ll see from the video.

You can watch the full 4-minute clip here:

Not only have they succeeded over the past 14 years, but the Australia Zoo has actually grown too! “You need to revel in every achievement,” Bindi Irwin’s mom says. “Remember to fixate on what you’re looking forward to tomorrow. Not just everything going wrong, but what’s something cool that’s happening tomorrow?”

One fan’s comment pretty much sums up how our Outsiders feel about the Irwins:

“No one should ever bet against this family! You are all so inspiring and wonderful! I have so much love and respect for you all! ❤️❤️❤️”

Bindi Also Chronicles Little Grace Warrior’s Growth

2021 wasn’t just a big year for the Irwin family zoo. It also marked the year they added a new family member: little Grace Warrior, born in March. That means the year was filled with plenty of incredible milestones and “firsts” like the first time she ever splashed in the ocean or the first time she made friends with an echidna.

Bindi has shared plenty of these special moments on her Instagram page and this New Year’s weekend is no different. A new Reel chronicles the growth of what Bindi Irwin calls “the greatest gift of the year.” It’s full of koala onesies and the occasional critter, but you could have probably guessed that already.
