Bindi Irwin took her daughter Grace Warrior into the great outdoors recently, and it’s got me wistfully thinking, oh, to be a baby experiencing nature for the first time. She posted a video on Instagram showcasing their trip into the mountains.

Grace looks entirely engrossed as her mother points out the mountains to her. She sits with her grandmother, Terri Irwin, and laughs with her dad, Chandler Powell. The video gives us a serene look at a river rushing over some rocks and down into a waterfall. The videography looks like Robert Irwin’s handiwork, as he’s tagged in the post.

Bindi captioned the post, “Our perfect day.” It doesn’t get any better than that, honestly. Except, maybe it can, with this sort of news to start your day with: the Irwins are back with the 4th season of “Crikey! It’s The Irwins.” The new season premieres on January 1 at 8 pm on Animal Planet. So, what can we expect from the Irwins in this season of their show?

Bindi Irwin and Family Return to Animal Planet

Last season, the show focused on the impact the pandemic had on the zoo. They had to close the Australia Zoo, and “Crikey! It’s The Irwins” cataloged how their animal care adapted and how they kept the zoo going with no guests.

Now, the 4th season is starting out with a special titled “Crikey! It’s A Baby!” This first episode will chronicle the end of Bindi’s pregnancy and Grace’s birth. Terri throws a baby shower, Chandler has a surprise for his wife, and Robert figures out how to be the fun uncle, using his dog for practice on caring for babies.

In the rest of the season, we can expect to see Terri working with the Sumatran elephants; Chandler and Robert going on a road trip to pick up a humongous Komodo dragon named Naga; Bindi taking Grace out in the zoo to explore her new world; and baby animals out the wazoo.

Expect more beautiful scenery of the zoo and the Steve Irwin Reserve, as well as lessons in animal care and conservation. There will most likely be a lot of milestones with Grace Warrior, which will probably spark a lot of discussions and memories about her late grandfather. I’ll be ready with the tissues; I always get weepy when they talk about Steve.

Grace Warrior and the Gang

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention at least one more of Bindi Irwin’s posts about Grace; she posted a series of photos on Instagram of her daughter with their pug and a chicken. “She’s got her pug and her chicken and life is good,” Bindi captioned the post. Now, there’s definitely nothing better than that.
