Bindi Irwin and her family are back on “Crikey! It’s The Irwins” for a 4th season on Animal Planet, and we’ve got all you need to know about Australia’s sweethearts.
First of all, the new season premieres on Animal Planet on January 1, 2022, at 8 pm ET. The show will still follow Terri, Robert, Bindi, and her husband Chandler Powell as they run around the Australia Zoo. But, now there’s going to be the new arrival of Grace Warrior thrown into the mix. According to synopses from Next Season TV, the first episode takes place during Bindi Irwin’s pregnancy and leads up to Grace‘s birth.
We also have a few hints as to what the new season has in store for us. The first episode seems to be a special, titled “Crikey! It’s A Baby!” which follows the family as they prepare for Grace’s arrival. Terri throws a baby shower; Chandler meets Bindi for an “emotional surprise” after her last day at the wildlife hospital; Robert prepares to be the fun uncle – or “Funcle” as he’s called; Bindi gives birth, and the family comes home to a celebration at the Australia Zoo.
As for the rest of the season, we’ll see Grace exploring her new world, which includes a 10 alligator move from Gator Lake; Terri helping the Sumatran elephants use a special runway that lets them move through the zoo; Robert and Chandler on a road trip to pick up a Komodo dragon named Naga; the adventures of Talbert the giraffe; and baby echidnas, baby possums, and baby koalas galore.
Bindi Irwin and Family Return With New Season of ‘Crikey! It’s The Irwins’
A lot of things have changed for the Irwins in recent months, and it will be interesting to see how they take those changes in stride. Last season, “Crikey!” showed how the pandemic affected the way they run the Australia Zoo. The Zoo had closed, and season 3 looked at the ways in which they kept the Zoo going and kept up their animal care while there were no visitors.
Now, we have Grace Warrior in the mix. It will be so wonderful to see how the new baby fits into the family dynamic at the Zoo; Bindi Irwin loves to update fans on her family on Instagram and lets us all know how the baby is doing. “She loves being outside on adventures with us, cuddling up to hear a good story, feeling/grabbing everything around her and giggling,” Bindi wrote on Instagram. That bodes well for her role in the Zoo; she seems to love everything about nature and the outdoors and animals already.
These milestones make us all miss Steve Irwin more and more. I’m sure there will be a lot of tributes and memories of him during this season, as his granddaughter explores his legacy at the Zoo.
