Friday night’s episode of Blue Bloods did make some news, but how did it do in the TV rating battle? Well, let’s take a look, Outsiders.

According to the data provided by TV Line, the Tom Selleck-starring police drama had 5.6 million viewers. It posted a 0.4 rating, which was a steady number in the demo. But the show dropped in viewership from last week.

SWAT was a rerun on Friday night, followed by new episodes of Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods.

So, what did top the Friday night rating war? ABC’s 20/20 profiled Jennifer and Jordan Turpin, two sisters who suffered years of torture from their parents. It gained 7.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the demo.

Blue Bloods’ Episode Features Erin Reagan Telling Frank About Running for DA

As for the news from the episode titled “USA Today,” Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan, tells NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Selleck, that she’s not going to run for the District Attorney’s job.

Erin’s news catches those around the dinner table by surprise. When pressed about it, she simply says that it was a “personal decision.” Frank looked like he took her word but also appeared to offer some consoling words to her.

Will this matter come up again this season? Anything is possible, Outsiders. We’d say just stay tuned because Blue Bloods never gets too dull.

After you have had some leftover turkey, be sure to catch Blue Bloods at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, on CBS.

Detectives Danny Reagan, Maria Baez Have Tough Time Finding Answers

In another highlight from Friday night’s episode, Detectives Danny Reagan and Maria Baez kept looking for some answers on a case.

It was quite a search for them in the episode. Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg, and Baez, played by Marisa Ramirez, just hit a dead-end over solving a liquor store assault case.

Now both detectives talked with people in the community but no one wanted to chat it up.

It turns out that the store owner’s son assaulted him and got the money. Why? Sony had gambling debts to pay off. Danny had the kid in the interrogation room when his father watched from behind the protective glass. Once the kid kind of cracked open, Danny opened the door and the father said Sonny did it.

It’s Been A While Since Sami Gayle Appeared In An Episode. When Was The Last Time?

One person that viewers have not seen lately on Blue Bloods is Sami Gayle, who plays Nicky Reagan-Boyle. Where has she been? Well, the actress has been going to school herself.

When was the last time Gayle played Nicky?

The last time she did was in a 2020 episode titled “Atonement.”
