Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg is a man of many talents whether it be on stage in his musical career or in front of the camera as an actor in his acting career. Wahlberg stays busy in a multitude of ways, including on social media where he is known to give advice from time to time. This week, Donnie Wahlberg asked fans to ‘take a moment’ in a new tweet.

In the tweet, he wrote, “Love you BH Fam! More important, I hope you love you. If you’re struggling with this concept, take a moment for yourself to do what you enjoy. Could be a cup of coffee, listening to music, taking a nap or telling yourself “you rock”. Because you do. BHLove = #selflove.”

Donnie Wahlberg wants folks to take care of themselves. His message is that self-care is important and it could be something as simple as making a cup of coffee or getting an important nap in. The point being, he wants his fans to know that they’re awesome and deserve to take of themselves.

Fans loved the tweet one user tweeting back, “You rock! Love you, Captain”

Another user tweeted, “Needed this.”

Donnie Wahlberg on ‘Blue Bloods’

With a music career in full swing, what drew Wahlberg to the show Blue Bloods in the first place? It wasn’t as if Donnie Wahlberg needed to make the transition to network TV, but it was a good thing that he did. The show has been a ratings hit ever since he made the jump to the CBS drama.

When asked why he clicked on the show he said, “‘Blue Bloods’ is a throwback show because they don’t make shows that focus on families like this anymore. Nowadays, it’s about the family down the street selling heroin or the husband with three wives. Everything’s focused on the unusual family. When I read the pilot the family dinner scene attracted me most. I’ve felt the heat of my dad staring down at me and my sister while we’re arguing and that same heat’s there with Tom Selleck and Bridget [Moynahan].”

It reminded him of how he grew up. Donnie Wahlberg had a connection with Tom Selleck because he reminded of him of his own father which made the transition into the Reagan family easier. The family dynamic is what makes the show work so well and for so long. However, he also mentioned that the unusual family aspect also works. It’s a different spin that pushes him and intrigues him in a different way. He revealed that the family dinner scene is ultimately what got him all the way in, which is interesting to learn.
