Leave it to Donnie Wahlberg of Blue Bloods to find a creative way to “say goodnight” to the show’s fans on Friday night.

Wahlberg, who plays Detective Danny Reagan on the CBS police drama, sent out his unique, special tweet. He was live-tweeting along with the airing of the episode titled Firewall.

Take a look below at what he sent out. It’ll be bearable for you, Outsiders.

In the latest episode, Danny and his partner Maria Baez, played by Marisa Ramirez, found themselves accidentally letting an evasive suspect go away. The reason? A cyber-attack hit the New York Police Department.

There also was other stuff happening as Baez started to question her place within the NYPD. Blue Bloods does a good job of keeping the action moving in its episodes.

As we said, Outsiders, Wahlberg was interacting with fans on Twitter. It is something he and other cast members have done over the years.

Yes, there was other stuff going on in the episode revolving around two stalwart characters. NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, had an old friend pop up in his world. Also, Retired NYPD Commissioner Henry Reagan, played by Len Cariou, accidentally allowed a fire to start in the kitchen. Detective Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes, ran in there to put it out.

While this was the last original Blue Bloods episode for 2021, there will be new ones popping up in 2022.

Be sure to check out some episodes that will be running in the holiday season on CBS. Tune in on Fridays at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, and catch up with everything.

Character’s Return To CBS Police Drama Leaves Some Open-Ended Questions

So, is Frank getting some romance in his life?

We don’t know for sure. But a character from past Blue Bloods episodes did return on Friday night.

City of London, England, Commander Sloane Thompson, played by Alex Kingston, returned to the show. Thompson had not appeared on the show for almost five years. The last time she showed up there was a little spark between her and Frank.

Now Kingston has appeared on Doctor Who as River Song. He’s also played Miranda Pond on Law & Order: SVU.

Thompson appears because Frank needed help with a cyber-attack at NYPD.

While we don’t know if something happens between the two, Frank starts digging into her past with the City of London Police. Frank wanted more info and snooped around. Thompson caught him. Will anything happen between Frank and Sloane? We will have to wait and see. Outsiders, the key two words are, as always, stay tuned.
