Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg probably feels like it’s the 1990s again. His band New Kids on the Block performed at the AMAs.

Last night the American Music Awards brought back two great boy bands from the past. New Edition and NKOTB got together on stage and battled with one another. It was so much fun and Wahlberg loved every second of it. Surely he enjoys his life as an actor, but you can tell his passion for music is close to his heart.

Check out the photos that the Blue Bloods star shared on Instagram from the event.

Wahlberg shared a thoughtful and wonderful message along with the photos.

“The performance is love, but the process is life! I cherished every moment of this journey. @brookepayne1 you are the best to ever do it and I’m so humbled by your belief in me. You know we had to throw in the Step By Step foot dance for you! @kmaher56 you are the greatest gift that keeps on giving and a true partner and genius collaborator. @sunnywalters you are an “angel from heaven” and the glue that holds this group together, my Leo sister. @leonlee10 — you did that! @617mikebiv made sure I didn’t leave you out and you should not be — thank you for the energy and the love and the genius! I didn’t have your pic because you were making sure the moments that were captured! What an honor to work with you all — behind the scenes! Let’s do it again! Soon!!!!!!”

This performance meant a lot to Donnie Wahlberg and that was clear before during and after the AMAs. The Blue Bloods star will always be just another New Kid on the Block.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Opens Up After AMAs

Of course, ever since the performance, Wahlberg has been sharing so much. The Blue Bloods star has shared photos, thoughts, and thanks to his bandmates, fans, and all that made it possible. Immediately after the AMA performance, he was quick to send out an emotional letter to fans.

Wahlberg took the time to thank the Blockheads, the dedicated NKOTB fanbase that has supported them for so many years. Of course, he also thanked New Edition, who he says had a big impact on his band. “Without New Edition there is no New Kids On the Block,” he said in the letter. Those are strong words coming from the singer turned actor.

While Donnie Wahlberg spends most of his time on TV portraying Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods, he is always going to love doing music. That is clear. So, when is the next NKOTB show?
