‘Blue Bloods’: Donnie Wahlberg Teases Next Week’s ‘Epic’ Episode Featuring Jimmy Buffett

by Leanne Stahulak

Mark your calendars, “Blue Bloods” fans, because star Donnie Wahlberg promised that next week’s episode will be one to remember.

The main reason for that is a special guest appearance from none other than famous singer Jimmy Buffett. And his role on the show will have you cackling.

Per the official synopsis provided by Matt & Jess Carter, Buffett will be playing Dickie Delaney — who happens to be a fake Jimmy Buffett. So Jimmy Buffett will play a guy pretending to be Jimmy Buffett. We cannot wait to see this on-screen.

And according to Wahlberg, Buffett will be spending most of his time on “Blue Bloods” interacting with Danny Reagan. You can see them talking things out in the picture above. Wahlberg also notified fans by posting about it on Twitter earlier this week.

“Next week is gonna be epic! #BlueBloods all new again! @jimmybuffett & yours truly are gonna have some fun!” Wahlberg captioned the post.

We have no doubt that they will. To see what else our favorite “Blue Bloods” characters are up to next week, check out the full episode synopsis below.

“Danny pursues Dickie Delaney (Jimmy Buffett), a con artist pretending to be the legendary singer Jimmy Buffett, after he’s tricked into paying for the scammer’s meal at an expensive restaurant. Also, Frank investigates NYPD Captain Terrell (Regina Taylor), who is using her badge to get free wares from local stores. Erin worries about her reputation when she’s the subject of a salacious, anonymous police blog. And Jamie introduces a decades-old saluting rule in the precinct.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Calls Himself ‘New Cowboy on the Block’

In recent “Blue Bloods” episodes, fans got a good taste of country style with the appearance of Lyle Lovett. The GRAMMY-award-winning country singer starred alongside Donnie Wahlberg as Major Waylon Gates. He’s filLing in for Maria Baez while she recovers from getting shot.

Last night, before the new “Blue Bloods” episode dropped, the show’s official Twitter account shared a sweet photo of Wahlberg and Lovett grinning on set. One Wahlberg fan pulled the photo and posted it side by side with a pic of Wahlberg rocking a cowboy hat.

Looking at the two side by side, you can definitely see two different types of “cowboys.” But even more hilariously, Wahlberg himself reposted the side-by-side photos and captioned it, “New cowboy on the block!”

The reference to both his band, New Kids on the Block, and the cowboy hats is spot on. We applaud the “Blue Bloods” star for seeing his opportunity and taking it.

And we look forward to seeing more of Wahlberg and Lovett in next week’s “Blue Bloods” episode. Alongside the fantastic Jimmy Buffett, of course.
