Next week on Blue Bloods, special guest Jimmy Buffet will be wasting away again in New York City.
But interestingly, in the episode titled On the Arm, the Cheeseburger in Paradise singer won’t be starring as himself. Instead, Buffett will play a man who is pretending to be Jimmy Buffett. Yeah, it’s a little confusing to explain, but it’s also hilarious.
The show will probably follow the same serious, dramatic tone that it always does. But with a quirky plot like that, there’s sure to be some great one-liners. And according to Donnie Wahlburg, the performance is going to be “epic.”
As CBS wrote in its official On the Arm synopsis, the singer plays a con artist named Dickie Delaney, who scams Danny into paying for his meal at an expensive restaurant. Danny, of course, takes the check thinking it belongs to Jimmy Buffett. But once the officer realizes he’s been had, he makes it a point to track the con man down.
Aside from the Buffett drama, Frank will investigate “NYPD Captain Terrell (Regina Taylor), who is using her badge to get free wares from local stores.”
On the other side of town, Erin will be worrying “about her reputation when she’s the subject of a salacious, anonymous police blog. And Jamie will also introduce a “decades-old saluting rule in the precinct.”
Catch the episode on Friday, Jan. 14 at 11/10 p.m. CT on CBS.
‘Blue Bloods’ Star Bridget Moynahan Says Keanu Reeves is a ‘Quiet and Private’
Though Moynahan’s character, Helen, is dead in the franchise, the actress still makes many appearances via flashbacks.
Moynahan didn’t make it into the most recent Wick installment, but as she shared with Looper, she and her on-screen love are still on great terms. Though, she never got to know him too well.
“He’s very quiet and very private,” Moynahan shared. “… I had always heard that about him, and he kind of still was. But we had a really nice time. We were playing a couple that was in love. So that was really fun to do.”
In the films, Moynahan’s character passes in her sleep after a long battle with a terminal illness, which sends John Wick, a retired assassin, into a deep depression. Before she dies, she leaves her husband a puppy to serve as a companion in her place.
But shortly after, a Russian mob breaks into his home and kills the dog before taking another gift Helen gave him, a 1969 Mustang. The incident then sends Wick on a murderous rampage that lasts 3 movies, with another due in 2023.
