Want a synopsis on this Blue Bloods episode? Here you go (and there are Spoilers in here).
“An illegal drug shipment arriving in New York City forces Danny to partner up with his Texas Ranger associate, Major Waylon Gates (Lyle Lovett), to find the narcotics before they flood the streets.”
‘Blue Blood’ Tandem of Gates, DAnny Reagan Should Offer Up Witty Commentary
In other Blue Bloods action from the Friday night episode, Jamie will make a concerning discovery about a former mentor as he helps a neighbor handle a gambling debt. Frank gets some pushback from Mayor Chase about his work on a brawl between demonstrators and police officers at a protest.”
That’s a lot of action, but we focus here on Gates and Danny Reagan. Lovett returns, and this probably will result in some silly back-and-forth talking between the Texan and the New Yorker.
Oh, hey, Outsiders, this will be the first of what we believe to be three new episodes of Blue Bloods in January.
Yes, things can change as shows are adjusting when COVID-19 might shut down production.

If You Are Looking For This Show to Crossover with ‘FBI,’ Then It’s Not Going to Happen
We all love crossovers between our favorite shows. It just is a lot of fun to see other cast members involved with other storylines.
This leads us to this question, Outsiders. Could Blue Bloods ever crossover with another CBS police drama, FBI? No.
Yes, we know that there is a never-say-never credo sometimes in TV land.
But let’s take a look at the landscape here.
FBI did a crossover episode with Chicago PD. Both shows are in the Dick Wolf hemisphere. Now, Chicago PD has done crossovers with Law & Order: SVU. And SVU, like Blue Bloods, deals with police cases in New York City. So, FBI already has dabbled in the joint Chicago PD–SVU realm, according to Looper.
