Get excited, Blue Bloods fans. On January 7, a new episode of Blue Bloods will be on CBS. Well, Blue Bloods is already teasing its fans on Twitter with a new tweet an accompanying picture of Tom Selleck.

In the tweet, it read, “Raise your hand if you’re just as excited for the New Year as us. #BlueBloods.”

Fans loved the tweet. One fan wrote in the comments, “I definitely am!” Another fan wrote, “Christmas treat… Starting from Season 1 again…”

Will Estes on Tom Selleck from ‘Blue Bloods’

You never know how working with a legend like Tom Selleck from Blue Bloods will go. You just do not know until you get in there and work with him. Well, Outsiders, has gone well for Estes and Selleck.

Estes told Looper, “It’s funny, Tom isn’t that different than the commissioner.” So there is some truth to the character that he is playing on television. There is some crossover between the two.

Estes continued, “He is really so professional. He’s so studied. He knows his character inside and out. You come on set, and you know you’re working with somebody who’s very well studied and very professional and executes time and time again, every scene. You need to be on your toes when you work with him, which makes it a lot of fun.”

He Puts in The Work

Selleck puts in the time on Blue Bloods, which viewers love to see. The star cares about the CBS drama and making sure each scene is a hit. He has high expectations for those around him as well, which is very interesting. He is a pro’s pro from Estes’ telling of him.

Will Estes added, “He does a lot in small ways to architect the scenes that he’s in.” It’s the little things for Selleck that folks may not see on Blue Bloods. He does a lot of the small things that may not show up to the viewer.

He continued, “Things like, we need to stay ahead of the audience. We need to make sure that we don’t tell them what we’re going to do before we do it, whenever possible. Just a ton of things like that, how certain things, certain dialogue, can be trimmed if it’s expositional or it’s not getting us where we need to go or it’s not progressing the story or the character arc. He could write, produce, and direct the show, but maintains that he just wants to perform as an actor.”

Selleck wants to always be on his A-Game. He wants to stay a step ahead on Blue Bloods. He does it all behind the scenes, and you can tell that kind of work ethic and expectations go a long way with the rest of the cast.
