If you weren’t already excited enough about the 12th season of “Blue Bloods,” Bridget Moynahan just gave you even more reason to get excited.
Only hours before the season premiere was set to air, the 50-year-old actress shared a sneak peek from the new season of the CBS show. And, it’s a clip that will make you countdown the seconds until the first episode of the 12th season debuts on Friday, Oct. 1.
Moynahan, of course, plays New York assistant district attorney Erin Reagan in the popular drama. Erin is just one member of the Reagan family. Other members of the family include her grandfather Henry Regan (Len Cariou), a former New York City Police Department commissioner. Her father is the current police commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Her brothers, Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) are both NYPD officers. She has one daughter, Nicky Reagan (Sami Gayle).
In the clip Bridget Moynahan shared via her Twitter account on Friday, she and her co-star Steve Schirripa share a moving scene next to the waters of lower Manhattan. It’s a picturesque location and the Statue of Liberty can be in the background. The beauty of the location didn’t go unnoticed by the “Blue Bloods” star.
“NYC looking magical for the season premiere of @BlueBloods_CBS tonight! @[email protected]#season12#bluebloodsfriday#bluebloods#isit10pmyet#reagans,” she commented.
‘Blue Bloods’ Characters Discuss a Case in Clip Shared by Bridget Moynahan
The sneak peek preview Bridget Moynahan shared on Twitter begins with her in character as Erin Reagan sitting on a bench. She’s taking in the beautiful scenery as Steve Schirripa approaches. He plays Detective Anthony Abetemarco in “Blue Bloods.”
“You ever go visit the Statue of Liberty?” Erin asks the detective as he sits down on the bench next to her. “Yeah. Once,” he responds.
Next, Erin talks about what she likes about the famous American symbol. “I always loved that she was a woman, especially growing up in a house full of boys,” she says.
“She looks kind of p****ed off if you ask me,” Abetemarco responds. This is a feeling the “Blue Bloods” character can also understand. “Well that, too,” Erin adds.
Their discussion then turns to stress in the workplace. Apparently, someone they work with is angry that Erin is working on a certain case. The anger comes from the fact that she is part of the multi-generational cop family.
“I guess I was trying to find some common ground – some insight into her,” Erin says. Wisely, the detective then offers Erin some advice. “What if the insight you get makes you wish you hadn’t?” he asks.
He then goes on to point out how a person involved in the case is close to a district attorney in Erin’s office. And, judging by her expression at the end of the scene, the detective’s comments strike a chord with her. You can watch the moving scene below.
