‘Blue Bloods’ Star Tom Selleck Reveals Costar’s Lifelong Crush on Ryan Seacrest

by Shelby Scott

Just as “Blue Bloods” has been airing on CBS for an impressive 12 seasons, Tom Selleck revealed one of his co-stars had a massive crush on iconic television personality Ryan Seacrest when she was 12 years old.

“Blue Bloods” patriarch Tom Selleck previously appeared in an entertaining March 2020 segment of “Live with Kelly and Ryan.” During the segment, Kelly reminds the “Blue Bloods” star that a co-star of his had a message to share while appearing on the show.

“Oh yeah, Abigail Hawk, who plays Baker in our show, was in love with you,” Selleck reports to Ryan Seacrest.

Humorously, he continues, “There was a problem. She was 12, and you were 19.” The rest of the video explores Hawk and Seacrest’s brief interaction together, though I’ll let you view that for yourself as the segment is actually quite funny. Check it out.

To summarize, Abigail Hawk, at 12 years old, starred in a short-lived show called “Reality Check” alongside Ryan Seacrest.

In a telling revelation to the fact, Kelly comments, “And yet, another layer of the onion just peeled away,” before the hosts dive into a brief clip from the 1995 series.

Overall, it gives Outsides a look not only at the “Blue Bloods” star as a child actor, but also at Ryan Seacrest before his time as an iconic television personality and host.

‘Blue Bloods” Abigail Hawk Delivers Bright Smile in Latest Post

More than two decades following her “Reality Check” role, Abigail Hawk has created quite a name for herself. While the “Blue Bloods” star has gained quite a following on CBS with every new weekly episode, she also boasts an impressive fan base on Instagram. And her latest post shows the actress delivering a smile bright enough to compete with her engaging, bright blue eyes.

Simultaneously, her violet-colored pants and crimson lipstick contrast both with the black of her shirt and the light color of her hair, contributing to an alluring magazine-like image.

And “Blue Bloods” fans seemed to take note of the fact.

“Absolutely breathtaking,” wrote one of the actress’s followers.

“Gorgeous! And I LOVE those pants!” shared another Abigail Hawk fan.

As the “Blue Bloods” star’s post boasts more than three thousand likes and an onslaught of complimentary comments, it’s hard to imagine Hawk’s character was barely existent when the CBS show kicked off 12 long seasons ago.

Hawk shared during an interview with Starrymag that before claiming the name Abigail Baker on “Blue Bloods,” she was simply known as Melissa. Hawk revealed, “she did not have a last name,” going only by Melissa or Detective Mel. At the time, the “Blue Bloods” actress stated Melissa also lacked an age, gender, race, or anything else.

Soon enough, the show’s icon, Tom Selleck, stepped in and handled that and now her character, Abigail Baker, remains a crucial member of the “Blue Bloods” team.
