‘Blue Bloods’ Star Will Estes Opens Up About Time He Felt Intimidated by Hollywood A-Lister

Will Estes plays one of the country’s bravest as New York City police officer Jamie Reagan on the hit CBS series Blue Bloods. However, even Estes can feel intimidated by certain star-power. Especially if the star in question is Batman himself!

Just two years after taking on the role of the youngest Blue Bloods Reagan son, Jamie Reagan, Will Estes found another role, playing a police officer in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, which stars Christian Bale as the dark hero himself.

And, notes the Blue Bloods star, it was quite a memorable moment during filming as he tried to find the “perfect” moment to strike up a conversation with the A-List actor during filming.

“I was standing next to Christian Bale in the bat suit one time,” the Blue Bloods star recalls.

“I think the suit was really uncomfortable, but I really wanted to talk to him because, you know, he’s Christian Bale,” Estes continues. “And he’s Batman.”

Will Estes remembers how he was trying to work up his nerve to walk up to the famous A-Lister as the actors were between shooting scenes.

“I was going to talk to him when he was standing there but he just seemed really uncomfortable,” Estes recalls of Bale.

“So, I went to talk to him and I decided against it,” he says.

“But then I went to talk to him again, and then a third time, and he raised a juice box,” the Blue Bloods actor continues. “I guess that’s like the only thing he could drink out of on the set.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Will Estes’s Close-Encounter With Batman

Will Estes remembers how even watching Christian Bale take a sip out of a juice box wasn’t enough to calm his nerves when approaching such a prolific actor.

“He took a sip out of like a little kid’s juice box, you know?” Estes remembered.

“I said, you know what, I’m not going to bother Christian Bale today,” the star adds. “The guy is Batman.”

While Estes never did officially meet Christian Bale while filming the popular Batman movie, he is excited about his close encounter with the A-list actor.

“I never met Christian Bale, but I stood about 10 feet from him, and that was exciting,” says Estes. However, the actor adds, getting close to Bale was good enough.

“I was close,” the Blue Bloods star says. “I was very close.”

In the hit 2012 film, Estes portrays Gotham city police officer Jason Jansen. The hit film features Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Batman.

In the blockbuster hit, Bale’s Batman works to interfere with the city and the Gotham police force in an effort to stop Bane from destroying the city.

The film also stars Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman.

“It was a lot of fun,” Estes says of his Dark Knight role.

“If you blink, you’ll miss me in the movie,” the actor quips. “But it was obviously really exciting just to be there.”
