A new clip from this season of Blue Bloods shows some trouble at one of the family’s classic dinners. In the clip, the family debates the content of a sermon. The pastor discussed the pain of being betrayed by someone close with you.

Jamie also says that Eddie’s dad is living with them. This indicates that there’s some trouble in paradise for the Blue Bloods couple. Jamie and Eddie are a fan-favorite couple. The two have them have had their highs and lows but are doing well.

The two decided not to bring his dad to dinner, because he’s just out of jail and it may be awkward for everyone to have him come to dinner with a family of police officers.

“What Dad’s really trying to say is while it’s nice to have saints at the table it’s better to have sinners. They have way better stories,” Danny Jokes.

“Last night’s episode was so excellent,” one fan wrote in response to the clip. Other fans were quick to praise the acting and writing, which they felt was very well done.

The Future for Jamie and Eddie on ‘Blue Bloods’

Jamie and Eddie clearly are facing some trouble in paradise, so what does star Will Estes think will happen next for them?

For him, he sees children in their future. In an interview with Looper, he discussed whether or not Jamie would agree to have kids.

“Yeah, I think Jamie could do it. I definitely think Eddie could do it. The trick would be, like a lot of people find these days if everybody’s working, who’s watching the kids?” he said. While they are currently playing host to a different kind of houseguest, they could be welcoming a child into their life if they so choose.

“You can obviously hire people and get help,” he said, “…but depending on your hours, that can be an intense situation.”

Eddie and Jamie have been through a ton together on the show, and it seems some fans would absolutely love to see the two take the next step and have kids. But that’s a really hard decision to make when both of you work intense jobs with unpredictable hours.

That’ll potentially be a roadblock that could lead one person to decide to step back, or could lead both of them to decide that having children just isn’t in the cards for them. Whatever they decide, it’s sure to be a major turning point as the show enters its later years.

If you want to see what happens next with Eddie, Jamie, and the rest of the family you can tune in to CBS on Friday nights at 10/9 central. The difficult timeslot isn’t stopping the show from pleasing its loyal fanbase, and there’s plenty of episodes left in the current season.
