Alright, Outsiders, good news and bad news. Bad news first, there will not be a new Blue Bloods until January 28. The good news…

When the show does return, it will be full of some great stories. This past Friday, Old Friends showed fans Lyle Lovett as the Texas Ranger, now Major Gates, once again. There is going to be some time off, but when the show returns, there is one very interesting storyline going on with Jamie.

In a family of law enforcement, sometimes you have to indulge your relatives’ various theories and hunches. Henry Reagan is pulling Jamie along for an investigation into his friend’s death that seems a bit suspicious. Henry is no longer a cop, but Jamie is going to respect his grandfather’s wishes and help him out with this one.

In usual Blue Bloods fashion, there are a lot of other things going on within the episode that will have fans on the edge of their seats. Here is the synopsis: “Frank contends with a potentially dirty cop within his ranks when Danny and Barz’s investigation into a brutal assault on an NYPD detective reveals the officer may be corrupt. Also, Eddie and Badillo track down the culprits behind the theft of valuable rare works from a celebrated bookstore; Jamie begrudgingly joins Henry as he looks into an old friend’s death he deems suspicious, and Erin snoops into the background of a new woman in Anthony’s life.”

Blue Bloods finds a way to thread the needle on all of these stories. The January 28 episode seems like it is going to be one where all of the Reagans will be doing some investigative work, even Erin who usually sticks to the courtroom.

‘Blue Bloods’ Fans Take Sides Over New Episode

Hopefully, more fans will be able to enjoy the next new episode a little more than the last one. Of course, Reddit is the place to check out the hot takes and opinions from fans and viewers just like you. The new episode left folks divided.

While Lyle Lovett is always a welcomed guest, there was one thing that made fans feel uneasy. The entire episode felt rushed. One of the downsides to telling so many stories at once is that Blue Bloods can sometimes pack a lot into an episode.

As you would expect, there were those that love the episode. Then those that liked it just fine. And finally, those that did not like it. One response said, “I thought this was the worst of the season.” To each their own. The show continues to bring in viewers and has a very loyal fanbase. Blue Bloods continues the season in just over two weeks.
