Vanessa Ray of “Blue Bloods” is very grateful for her role in the hit CBS police drama. But she does have dreams for her career.
Ray, who plays Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan, wife of Detective Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), talked about those aspirations in an interview with The Nerds of Color.
“I’d want to play a superhero!” she said. Ray mentions taking a call from Marvel and even would consider being a part of a sitcom.
We all have dreams, don’t we Outsiders?
‘Blue Bloods’ Star Will Keep Working On Her Relationship With Jamie This Season
But Ray will have her hands full this season on “Blue Bloods” as her relationship with Jamie remains a storyline.
They had been a couple for a period of time and now they are married. Also, they both remain active with the New York Police Department. Sounds like Eddie found the right family to be a part of in the Reagans.
Look, Outsiders, the Reagans have three generations of police officers at that dinner table. You have those sons of NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck. Besides Jamie, there’s Detective Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg.
Who sits at the other end of that dinner table? Yep, Retired NYPD Commissioner Henry Reagan, played by Len Cariou.
So here comes Eddie to be a part of this big family that has proudly served as part of the police force. That’s a solid win for her on “Blue Bloods.”
Ray Knows Fans Love Interaction Between Her, Estes As Part Of Crime Drama
Getting back to the relationship, Ray is aware that fans love the interaction between her and Estes. She pointed toward the fact that it might be the differences between them that makes the relationship spark.
“What I like is that Eddie and Jamie are from different worlds and they have always seen things very differently,” Ray said of the relationship between Eddie and Jamie. “They’re not afraid to challenge each other.”
They do not duck from one another and that definitely keeps “Blue Bloods” fans on the edge of their seats.
Ray is surrounded by a major-league group of actors. Cariou has been a star on Broadway while Selleck, of course, has a track record of success on TV. Bridget Moynahan, who plays Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan, also has a seat for dinner. Moynahan has appeared in movies and TV shows, too.
“Blue Bloods” gets its 12th season off the ground on CBS on Friday, Oct. 1. Outsiders who are fans of this show already have 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, marked off. If you didn’t know, well, now you know. Make sure and catch the opener as it’ll set the stage for what always is an action-packed season.
