Fans of CBS police drama Blue Bloods know that NYPD officers Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko-Reagan are married. But no kid yet? Why?

Outsiders, let’s go ask someone who would know. Vanessa Ray, who plays Eddie, talked about this in a 2020 interview with Hollywood Life.

“They are crazy about each other, but there’s a lot they have to deal with and sort out,” Ray said. “I’m the worst keep of secrets, so no, I don’t know if they’re going to start a family soon, but it’s something they talk about a lot.

“Eddie and Jamie fell in love being equals, and one or both of them would have to step back from a bit of their career that they love so much [when they start a family],” Ray said. “There are days where they say, ‘Yes, of course, we’re going to start a family.’ And then there’s days where she goes, ‘I don’t think I could give this up so casually.’ It’s interesting to see them play around.”

Ray and Will Estes, who plays Jamie Reagan, have developed quite a chemistry between them for Blue Bloods.

But the show manages to connect storylines with Reagan family members.

Blue Bloods can be seen on Fridays at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, on CBS.

‘Blue Bloods’ Actress Talks About Learning From Tom Selleck On Show’s Set

One of the great things about Blue Bloods is that the cast has a wealth of acting experience. You have Len Cariou, who plays Henry Reagan, with a Broadway career filled with success.

Of course, Outsiders, there’s Tom Selleck. The actor plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan on the show. His influence has been solid for other cast members to follow.

One of them is Ray. She talked about her respect for Selleck in a 2014 interview with Niagra Frontier Publications.

She said Selleck is “like a genius, brilliant human being, who I’m so lucky to even get to be around.”

Ray goes on about Selleck.

Ray Also Admits That Being Around One Cast Member Raises Her Nerves

“He’s so, so loving, and so kind, and makes me a better actor,” Ray said. “I have to ask him questions about what he thinks about my scenes, and the things that he says are just brilliant.”

She is not the only cast member to speak highly of Selleck. Ray also talks about how much he means as far as his stature.

But there is one cast member that she admits to feeling nervous about speaking to on the set.

It’s Cariou.

As we mentioned, Outsiders, Cariou had a solid Broadway and stage career before joining the show.

“I’ve been an enormous fan of Len Cariou from (the musical) ‘Sweeney Todd,'” Ray said in 2018.
