The popular procedural drama “Blue Bloods” has been on since September 2010. For over a decade now, we’ve gotten to know the Reagan family and anyone else that crosses paths with them both professionally and personally.
From career promotions to romantic relationships to near-death moments, “Blue Bloods” has taken fans through a whole rollercoaster of plotlines over the years.
As we watch New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), NYPD Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), NYPD Officer Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), Attorney Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynihan), and former New York City Police Commissioner Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), we certainly have plenty of favorite moments with the characters.
Most-Watched Episode of ‘Blue Bloods’
Now, during season 12, “Blue Bloods” has managed to maintain most of its cast. This makes for a very consistent and pretty entertaining show. But, after all these years, which episode still sticks out to fans the most? It’s going to probably be shocking to most.
The most-watched episode ever is the pilot of “Blue Bloods.” It’s the episode that introduces us to all the main characters we will grow to love for the next 12 seasons. It shows Jamie’s graduation from the police academy, which is funny considering he’s a sergeant now. It also takes place about 15 months after Joe Reagan, which was another child of Frank’s, unfortunately, passes away.
All in all, this episode actually managed to grab the attention of 13.01 million viewers, according to TV by the Numbers. That was only including the actual night it aired, as well. An additional 2.26 million people also watched the show after it was released. That brings this pilot premiere to 15.27 million total viewers, which is astronomical.
It’s pretty easy to tune into “Blue Bloods,” too, seeing as the show has been airing on Friday nights since season one.
Highest-Rated Episode of the Show
The pilot episode appears to be the most-watched as of now. Meanwhile, fans have also pinpointed some of their all-time favorite episodes of the series as well.
On IMDb, the highest-rated episode as of October was the season 10 finale called “Family Secrets,” which aired on May 1, 2020. This episode got a 9.2 out of 10. During the episode, viewers learn some shocking news.
Frank Reagan’s dead son we first heard about in the pilot actually had a child of his own. It was a massive plot twist, but also a way for “Blue Bloods” to introduce new blood to the family. It definitely feels like a bit of a full-circle moment, as well.
“The new addition to the family is a great idea to expand storylines. I was just blown away by how great a story this was,” wrote one fan regarding the episode.
