Bob Saget’s Death: Orange County Sheriff’s Office Releases Official Statement

The unfortunate news that Bob Saget passed away broke just within the last hour. Orange County Sheriff’s Office now has an official statement.

According to the Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, Florida, there is no “foul play.” TMZ reported that Saget had passed at the age of 65. Law enforcement, as well as first responders, found the actor in his hotel room. He was originally found by hotel security.

The official statement from the Sheriff’s Office is in the tweet below.

“Earlier today,” the statement says. “Deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

It was reported that the Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene around 4 PM Sunday, January 9. Then, news broke hours later. The 65-year-old comedian had been on tour. Bob Saget had planned shows in Florida, including Orlando. In fact, he had just performed in Jacksonville.

Bob Saget Thanked Fans After Jacksonville Show

After his show at the Ponte Verda Concert Hall, Saget posted a thankful and exciting message to fans. The actor said he was “addicted” to stand up again. That was after he performed a 2-hour set after Tim Wilkins opened for Saget.

“Loved tonight’s show at [Ponte Verda Concert Hall] in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to [Tim Wilkins] for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I’m happily addicted again to this shit.” He then asked fans to check his site for tour dates.

Back in September, the tour began. There were dates planned through May of this year. During his career, Saget earned a reputation as a “dad” figure. Of course, he was the father in Full House, hosted the classic America’s Funniest Home Videos, and had a great career in film and television.

When fans think back on Bob Saget’s career, they will picture him as the loveable Danny Tanner. Always one to lend an ear. And always there for his family. The character popularized Saget in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. After two years on the show, he was offered a hosting job at AFV.

So, he began his role as the host of the iconic home video clip show. After his run on those shows, Saget worked on his stand-up career and moved on from his past roles. However, there were some hits and misses. While he had no trouble finding roles, some lasted longer than others.

Since the news was announced, there has been an outpouring of messages from fans, friends, and peers. All throughout social media, there have been messages and more. After all, Bob Saget was America’s dad for many years. So, he will be missed by many.
