“Bosch” star Titus Welliver just announced that the spin-off show from the hit Amazon series just finished filming.

He sent out a tweet earlier this morning to fans and followers about the change in production. While we don’t have a release date yet for the highly anticipated sequel series, we’re hoping it’ll air sometime next year in mid-to-late 2022.

Apparently, the show also doesn’t have a title yet. But Welliver spitball plenty of ideas in his announcement tweet.

“That’s a wrap on season 1 of Bosch Returns, Son of Bosch, Bosch 2. Thank you to our incredible cast and crew! It’s gonna be good!!” Welliver wrote earlier.

If Welliver says it’s gonna be good, then it must be. He’s absolutely killed it in the first seven seasons we’ve seen him in. It’ll be interesting to watch Welliver take Harry Bosch in a new direction.

The original “Bosch” show was based on the book series by author Michael Connelly. The author’s heavily involved in production for both the original series and the spin-off, which will launch on IMDb TV (a subset of Amazon). Connelly also posted about filming wrapping up, but he included incredible behind-the-scenes photos as well.

“It’s a wrap on the first season of the new Bosch show. Call it flashback Friday: Bosch in Afghanistan looking for bin Laden,” Connelly tweeted. He followed it up with another comment and picture from the set. “We flashback to the tunnels in Afghanistan 2001.”

Looks like we’ll get even more backstory on Harry Bosch, LAPD detective turned P.I. Although the spin-off series focuses on Welliver’s character after Season 7, it’s nice to see the attention on Harry’s past as well.

Could Titus Welliver’s Son Be Playing Young Harry in the New ‘Bosch’ Spin-Off?

Last month, Titus Welliver posted a behind-the-scenes pic that we assume comes from the new spin-off set. In front of the camera in the pic is Welliver’s oldest son, Eammon Welliver. The actor captioned the pic, “Eamonn Welliver is LAPD Officer Harry Bosch.”

Could it be as straightforward as all that? We know in the new spin-off that Titus Welliver will be exploring Harry’s transition to a private investigator after working as a detective for so many years. If Eamonn is playing an LAPD officer, then he’s likely exploring Bosch’s past in some flashback sequence or another.

And he won’t be the first Welliver kid to do it. Eamonn’s younger brother, Quinn Welliver, played a pre-teen/ teenage Harry Bosch on the show from 2015 through 2017. Now, it looks like Eamonn might be tackling Harry in his 20s or late teens, based on how he’s portrayed in the above picture. Either way, we can’t wait to see the Wellivers in action once again.
