Candace Cameron Bure is sharing the details about her newest Hallmark Christmas movie.
The queen of Hallmark, Candace Cameron Bure, met with Access Hollywood today to promote her upcoming holiday flick, The Christmas Contest. In the movie, Matt Harmon and DJ Tanner-Fuller will have another chance at love.
Okay, that’s not exactly true. But, DJ’s Bure and Matt’s John Brotherton are the stars of the show. However, instead of being quirky veterinarians from San Francisco, they’re exes who compete against each other in a Christmas charity contest. While they’re battling, things really heat up between the two of them. And as most Hallmark movies go, the two fall in love again. But they’ll have to decide if reuniting is more important than winning the contest and donating all the proceeds to a charity of their choice.
The Christmas Contest is part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas, and it debuts later this month. Ahead of the premiere, Candace Cameron Bure and John Brotherton met with Access Hollywood to talk about the film, and the starlet hopes all her fans tune in to watch the interview.
“A Candace Sandwich coming to an @accesshollywood near you,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“It’s always a joy visiting @mariolopez and @kithoover at Access, and this time @johnbrotherton joined me!
Tune in tomorrow on NBC at 1pm if you’re in NYC or 12pm if you’re in LA, to hear all about our new @hallmarkchannel Christmas movie “The Christmas Contest” premiering November 28th.”
Candace Cameron Bure Reenacts ‘Charlie Brown Christmas’ in Cute Video Ahead of Hallmark Movie Season
‘Tis the season for Hallmark holiday movies! Christmas came a couple of months early this year when the network debuted its holiday lineup last month, and we weren’t mad about it.
To kick off the season, the face of Hallmark, Candace Cameron Bure, filmed a reenactment of Charlie Brown Christmas and posted it on her official Instagram page. Check it out below.
“Flip the switch! Countdown to Christmas officially begins tonight on @hallmarkchannel.
Get ready for 24/7 holiday movies with all new movies on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 8 pm!! #countdowntochristmas #hallmarkchannel”
In an adorable—and absolutely magical—video, Candace puts a new spin on a famous scene from Charlie Brown Christmas. The Fuller House star begins by standing in front of a sad, barren tree in a regular-looking town. And in vintage black and white film, she lips Linus’s famous words “I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe, it just needs a little love.”
And with that, Candace “flips the switch,” and the scene transforms into a glamorous Christmas wonderland. The world is filled with color again. Christmas decor adorns the set. And Candace, who was wearing a plain sweatsuit, is all of a sudden dressed in a stunning sequin-covered gown.
