‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’: Pat Sajak and Jason Mraz Have Plenty of Jokes About Musician’s Name

by Quentin Blount

Who would have ever thought that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak and singer-songwriter Jason Mraz getting together would make for great TV?

Okay, even though we never thought about it before, it does make perfect sense. Getting Jason Mraz to be on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was a great idea. We all know the host of the show — Pat Sajak — and we love his hilarious personality. But it turns out that Jason Mraz has a pretty great sense of humor as well.

Mraz, of course, is a two-time Grammy Award-winning artist. He’s also won two Teen Choice Awards, a People’s Choice Award, and the Hal David Songwriters Hall of Fame Award. Over the course of his career, he has earned Platinum and multi-Platinum certifications in over 20 countries.

Jason Mraz — ‘I’m Yours’

Perhaps you recall back in 2008 when Jason Mraz dropped his third studio album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and became one of the hit albums of the year thanks to the song “I’m Yours”. The hit song went on to peak at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, which gave Mraz his first-ever top ten single. It spent a then-record 76 weeks on the Hot 100 and was certified Diamond (10x Platinum) in 2019. It was that song that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak made reference to when introducing Mraz on the show.

“Jason Mraz is here! We’re very excited,” Sajak said. “I’m yours, Jason!”

“That’s right,” Mraz replied. “Oh, well thank you, Pat. I’m yours, too!”

Then, in typical Sajak fashion, he joked that Mraz’s last name was “missing a vowel.”

“And by the way, if anyone needed to buy a vowel it’s Mraz,” Sajak said. “There’s one missing from your name.”

“You’re right. Mostly consonants in my name,” Mraz responded. “So, I’ve been prepared for this my whole life, Pat.”

The popular singer also made sure to give fans an update on his newest album, Look for the Good.

Look for the Good is my most recent album. It’s a reggae album and we’ve been out on the road, touring it,” Mraz said. “You know, I always try to write music with a positive spin.

And as for the charity that Mraz is playing for on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, that would be True Colors United.

“I’m playing for True Colors United. It was founded by Cyndi Lauper, and it addresses homelessness in America specifically for LGBTQ young persons.”

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune fans were happy to see Jason Mraz on the show as well.

“Good celebrity,” one fan wrote. “Helping people who are in need. Also Mraz good luck on your new album.”
