On Sunday night, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune‘s Instagram account announced the game show’s celebrity winner of tonight’s episode.
In January of this year, Season 1 of the celebrity version of the popular game show premiered. It was the first time ever that celebrities became the only contestants during a special season of the show. Following the success of the first season, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 2 recently returned on Sunday nights in primetime.
Per usual, tonight’s episode had three brand new celebrity contestants. Full House star Jodie Sweetin, My Big Fat Greek Wedding actress Nia Vardalos, and actor and game show host John Michael Higgins were the competitors in tonight’s episode.
Vardalos took an early lead with $7,400 on the board. Sweetin followed behind at $3,000, and Higgins trailed behind the two actresses with zero money earned. However, Sweetin came charging back to take over first place and win a trip to the Bonus Round. When the newest episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune came to an end, Sweetin had won her favorite charity a whopping $54,000.
The huge donation will go to the nonprofit organization Girls Inc., which serves girls aged 5-18 years old. The organization has more than 1,500 sites across 350 cities in both the United States and Canada. As the Girls Inc. website says, “girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face.” The money raised by the Full House star’s victory on the game show will definitely be going to a good home.
“We’re all smiles because @JodieSweetin is bringing home money for @girlsinc! #CelebrityWheelOfFortune,” the account wrote on Instagram.
‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’ Hosts and Contestant Share Hilarious Exchange
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been at the head of the famous game show for four decades now. Their on-air chemistry is often reflected on the show when interacting with the contestants, and tonight was no different with celebrities spinning the wheel. During one segment, Sajak announced the contestants’ next category, and then told actor Michael Higgins it was his turn to spin.
“All right. This one’s for you, Vanna,” the actor said before adding with a laugh, “You’re so far away.”
“I’m not far away!” White responded as she jokingly reached for Higgins from across the stage.
“Spin the wheel!” Sajak amusingly chimed in as he tried to keep the game on track.
After dedicating his turn to the famous hostess, Higgins’ spin miraculously landed on the million-dollar wedge. The actor/host excitedly pumped his fist in the air before Sajak interrupted, “Now you need to find a letter that’s in the puzzle.”
“Oh, that old trick. Yeah, yeah,” Higgins hilariously said. “Let’s see… how about a ‘T’?”
Since actress Jodie Sweetin won the episode, we know Higgins missed out on the huge grand prize. But it made for quite the cliffhanger in the show’s promo clip from earlier today.
“Every spin is better when you’re doing it for @officialvannawhite! Watch the wheel tonight at 8/7c and Stream on Hulu!” Celebrity Wheel of Fortune captioned their post.
