Showrunners previously revealed that, ahead of the holidays, NBC plans to air a special”Chicago Fire” episode dedicated to the approaching festive season and we are here for it. For now, we’re forced to wait for the midseason finale, and presumably, the holiday special. In the meantime, “Chicago Fire” fans have unearthed a Christmas commercial starring none other than our favorite Firehouse 51 firefighters. Check out the sweet clip below.

One “Chicago Fire” fan, simply identified as Maggie M. on Twitter, located the Christmas-centric commercial. Since first hitting play, I’ve watched it at least three times over. However, according to the comments below the post, I’m not the only one.

According to One Chicago Center, the commercial promotes the Google Nest Mini. In it, we see Severide watching a holiday performance on “The Voice” in the fire crew’s mess hall. Recent alum, Jesse Spencer, filling the role of Matt Casey, appears in the next few frames, telling Severide it’s time to decorate for the holidays.

“Way ahead of you, Captain,” Severide replies with a grin. All of a sudden, we see Truck 81 lit up with a bright and cheery collection of lights and reindeer.

As we might expect, fans went straight to the comments in droves to applaud and admire the “Chicago Fire” commercial.

“HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS??” exclaimed one “Chicago Fire” fan. Ultimately, I’m wondering the same thing.

Another commenter wrote, “They need to play this on tv[,] it’s great.”

Now, as we await the holiday-centric episode of “Chicago Fire,” we can only hope to see just as many bright and colorful lights feature on screens as in the above commercial.

‘Chicago Fire’ to Premiere Brand New Holiday Episode

As stated above, the unearthed “Chicago Fire” holiday commercial serves as a little taste for the upcoming holiday special. And according to showrunners, the new episode of “Chicago Fire” is bound to make even Hallmark jealous.

In speaking with TVLine, the ever-informative “Chicago Fire” showrunner, Derek Haas, said, “For the first time in years, as long as I can remember, we’re doing a holiday episode.”

While the showrunner did not elaborate much further as to what to expect, (after all, it’s a holiday surprise!) we can be sure the episode will inspire a roller coaster of emotions. In comparing the festive “Chicago Fire” episode to Hallmark’s classic Christmas specials, Outsiders can expect a variety of potential heartfelt situations and surprises.

Perhaps, as we look back on what season 10 has brought us so far, maybe fan-favorite character Matt Casey will make one final reappearance and surprise Brett for the holidays. Too much to hope for? I know you’re considering it Outsiders.

Regardless, if the festive episode of “Chicago Fire” is half as heartwarming and cheery as the commercial above, then we’re off to a great start for the holiday season.
