‘Chicago Fire’: When Will the Season 10 Finale Air?

by Joe Rutland

Chicago Fire fans have been following the tight storylines all fall long. Yet it’s getting closer to the show’s fall finale. When is it?

The Dick Wolf-created show will air its fall finale on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central. That’s according to a story from One Chicago Center.

You can catch a Season 10 spring finale later in 2022. So far, though, Chicago Fire fans have seen cast members leave, new ones sign up, and a fair share of drama.

Fans are waiting to see what, if any, cliffhangers might be added to the final fall episode.

Chicago Fire joins other “One Chicago” shows Chicago PD and Chicago Med in closing things down on Dec. 8. All fall finales will air on that night.

‘Chicago Fire’ Will Have Another Episode Before Closing Down For Fall

Fret not, Outsiders. The “One Chicago” franchise will be coming back after the New Year’s Day holiday.

While NBC has not revealed much about the Chicago Fire fall finale, we do know they will be airing a holiday episode.

David Eigenberg, Eamonn Walker, and Kara Kilmer are among the cast members on the show.

Speaking of the show, it’s been making news behind the camera.

Andrea Newman is now a co-showrunner on Chicago Fire. Newman has been with the show since its first episode. She worked up to executive producer status in Season 6. Newman will work next to showrunner Derek Haas.

What does Haas think of Newman? “Andrea’s voice is embedded in the soul of Chicago Fire […] no one in Hollywood works harder or cares more about making great television than she,” he said.

Newman joins Gwen Sigan of Chicago PD and Diane Frolov of Chicago Med as female showrunners for each franchise series. It’s all at the same time, too.

Major Character Planning To Return To Dick Wolf Show Quite Soon

One star of the cast fans really loved was Miranda Rae Mayo, who played Stella Kidd.

Well, she has been off of the show. When could Mayo return to Chicago Fire?

Haas tells TV Line in an interview when that could happen.

The showrunner says Mayo will be back on-screen “before the end of this calendar year.”

Now she could return and not have a spot while she’s been working on Girls on Fire.

Kidd went to Boston as she wanted to grow the “Girls on Fire” movement. It makes strides in encouraging them to become firefighters.

Lieutenant Kelly Severide, played by Taylor Kinney, got into it with Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann, played by David Eigenberg, in last week’s episode.

Severide finally gives Herrmann a chance with a cigar chat. He asked Herrmann just to listen–it’s part of what makes their cigar chats so heartwarming. Severide tells him, “I don’t think Stella’s coming back.”
