If you’re a fan of “Chicago Med,” chances are you are going to be very happy about this news! After an absence of several episodes – too many for some fans – Dr. Ethan Choi is finally returning to the series.

According to TV Insider, Dr. Choi, who is played by actor Brian Tee, has not made an appearance in the show’s seventh season. As of Thursday, Oct. 28, six episodes of the latest season of the popular NBC drama have been released.

Also, the minds behind “Chicago Med” did not keep Choi’s upcoming reappearance a secret from viewers. In fact, they made his return to the series the focus of a preview clip released for the seventh episode of the show’s seventh season. You can check out the preview below.

Chances are the reaction charge nurse Maggie Lockwood, who is played by Marlyne Barrett, will be shared by most viewers of the medical drama. In the preview clip, she is curious as to why so many of her coworkers and friends are gathered around. Then, she realizes they are showing their love for Dr. Ethan Choi. The expression on her face when she sees him says it all.

As fans of the show are aware, Dr. Choi was shot by a patient during the show’s sixth season. With Dr. Choi sidelined by his injuries, Dr. Dean Archer was put in charger of the emergency department. Actor Steven Weber, who is known for his roles in the television series “Wings” and the television mini-series of Stephen King’s “The Shining,” plays Dr. Archer.

As to how much longer Dr. Archer will be in charge of the emergency department is not known at this point. It’s another question fans of “Chicago Med” have. They will also just have to wait for the answer.

What Does the Future Hold for Dr. Ethan Choi on ‘Chicago Med’

Also, what the future holds for Dr. Ethan Choi on “Chicago Med” remains to be seen. Chances are he’s not quite ready to return to treating patients on a full-time basis. Viewers may see him ease back into the difficult job he and his co-workers do day in and day out at their hospital.

Dr. Choi’s return to the series also has viewers wondering if he and nurse April Sexton could move their relationship forward. That might be difficult, however. Sexton quit her job at the hospital in order to become a nurse practioner. Sexton is played by actress Yaya DaCosta.

The seventh episode of this season of “Chicago Med” is titled “A Square Peg in a Round Hole.” It is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, Nov. 3. If you’re a fan of the show, this promises to be an episode you don’t want to miss!
