It looks like Sophia Bush is living her best life. We miss seeing her on Chicago P.D., but it’s always nice to see the actress with a smile.
The 39-year-old took to Instagram this week to share an update with fans. It’s clear that she’s not just keeping things going after her departure, but thriving.
“Some of my favorite October things,” Bush begins the post. “birthdays, vintage books, a return to live music (thank you for blowing my mind @feistmusic), fall leaves, Bruce Lee, curious critters, curio cabinets, + him.”
It’s a lot of stuff, but that’s a good thing. We’re especially piqued by the Feist show, that must’ve been a blast. Among the indie artist is Bruce Lee, fall vibes and other things the former Chicago P.D. star just can’t get enough of.
Perhaps the most interesting detail has to be the “him” that she throws in at the end. While we’d bet most die-hard Chicago P.D. fans know her man Grant Hughes, let’s just cover the bases.
Who is Sophia Bush’s ‘Him’?
Grant Hughes is a entrepreneur, namely starting the health company FocusMotion. The company works in orthopedics and looks to help surgery patients in their recovery.
But as his Instagram would point out, there’s a lot of other stuff going on. He’s started a book club, a wine club and has a dog with its own Instagram.
The pair started dating right around the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, when they were first seen together. However, things have gone about as well as one could hope, as Hughes proposed to Bush in Italy in August. Now, the two are set to be wed.
It’s clear the relationship has taken off like a rocket, and it’s even clearer that Bush is enjoying every bit of it.
Former ‘Chicago P.D.’ Star May Have Found the One
Anyone that is a fan of Bush knows that she’s had several relationships over the years. Obviously, these ended up not working out. Chicago P.D. star Jesse Lee Soffer is one of those names, and unfortunately for fans, it didn’t work out.
The actress even married Chad Michael Murray, but it only lasted a brief period as they divorced not long after in December of 2006. Now, Bush is back in the marriage game.
This is possibly due to her approach to love and relationships. The former Chicago P.D. star wrote about her thoughts in an essay for Cosmopolitan, which included a noteworthy clip of how she views her experiences in the past and how she looks forward.
“In my 20s, when I was starting out my career as an actor, I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but one found me and became serious, even though I hadn’t planned to settle down until my 30s,” she wrote in Cosmopolitan. “But when the person you’re with asks you to marry him, you think: This must be happening because it’s supposed to… But I refuse to let that one relationship define me.”
That’s the ticket, folks. Bush is dedicated to those she loves, but maintains her individuality.
