The “One Chicago” universe offers a lot of exciting and dynamic storylines and character pairings alike. However, one fan-favorite couple, Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt and fireman Randall “Mouch” McHolland, has loyal fans’ complete adoration. And after so many seasons watching the “Chicago PD”/”Chicago Fire” relationship grow, develop, and strengthen, who can blame them?

As we head into the holiday season, we tend to reflect on those relationships that mean most to us. Now, Outsiders await the upcoming midseason finale of “Chicago PD.” In the meantime, we’re here to commend the bond the dynamic first responder pair have created since first meeting on the “One Chicago'” hit shows.

Looper states that “Chicago PD,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago Med” all feature a handful of eye-catching headline couples. For now, “One Chicago” puts a heavy focus on “Fire’s” Stellaride and “PD’s” Upstead. However, it’s truly Plouch that has endured, receiving the outlet’s vote for the franchise’s most “rock-solid” relationship.”

‘Plouch’ Headlines as Strongest First Responder Relationship

There’s no doubt, especially in the case of “Chicago Fire” couple, Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide, fans have seen a lot of development. The fact is especially true on behalf of Severide. However, Trudy and Mouch move past every single obstacle. Additionally, their jobs as first responders serve as a way to strengthen their romantic bond, rather than come between them.

Each time we’ve seen “Chicago PD’s” desk sergeant face intense trauma on the show, such as the murder of her father or injuries sustained in an explosion, Mouch is ever-present and ever-dependable. He willingly works alongside his partner to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

Simultaneously, Trudy has had some significant roles over on the show. Most dynamically, she helps Mouch in making significant financial decisions when it comes to owning and maintaining his co-owned bar, Molly’s. Heck, Trudy’s even come to Herrmann’s aid when her husband’s friend was put in a near-impossible situation.

Truly, it’s the woman who will come to aid both you and your friends that you need to stick with.

‘Chicago PD’ Fans Want to See More of Trudy Platt

Speaking of Trudy, fans are also dying to simply see more of the character over on “Chicago PD.” As one of the show’s desk sergeants, our favorite “Chicago PD” unit is constantly running into Trudy, as she serves as a central point for information.

Further, fans highlighted the character’s frequent appearances and following comic relief. However, one fan pointed out, “she’s also really sharp and provides a shoulder to lean on, even if people don’t want it.”

Others were upset that Trudy was “sidelined” once Officer Kim Burgess was transferred to the department’s intelligence unit. They further stated, “I’m mad that writers haven’t figured out what to do [with Trudy] and it has been years at this point.”

Perhaps as we head farther into season nine of “Chicago PD,” we’ll eventually see more of the fan-favorite cop.
