There’s no doubt that Jay Halstead and Hank Voight have been enemies on Chicago PD. But Halstead has to make a difficult decision.
Let’s break it down with an assist from Matt & Jess.
First, Jesse Lee Soffer plays Halstead and Jason Beghe plays Voight.
Second, the FBI is asking Jay to flip on Hank.
Third, Halstead knows that his past actions on Chicago PD helped the FBI find Roy’s body. Roy Walton was the man who was shot by Hailey Upton, played by Tracy Spiridakos. Now Officer Kim Burgess, played by Marina Squerciati, was shot by Walton.
But Voight and Upton protected Burgess. That leaves both Upton and Voight in a tight spot.
What will Halstead do? Either he helps the FBI bring down Voight. Or he and Hailey will face some big problems, too.
It’s quite a bind that Halstead finds himself in at this time.
Outsiders, we just would like to remind you that Chicago PD airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central, on NBC.
‘Chicago PD’ Star Marina Squerciati Talks About Slipping Back Into Playing Burgess
You know, actors have different routines sometimes that get them at the moment along with their character.
Chicago PD star Marina Squerciati was asked if she has a type of routine to get into Burgess’ character.
She replies to a question during an interview with Hello! magazine.
The question was, “Do you have a ritual to get back into the headspace of Kim?” No.
But listen to Squerciati’s answer.
“[Kim] is a second skin now and I know her so well that I can slip right back in,” she said.
Squerciati pays attention to the scene itself. That way, she will know how to become Kim for that moment.
When that happens, she’ll have one question. “This is new, how do I do this?”
She talked about one scene in the second episode of Chicago PD this season.
“I had to do a really cool undercover scene…and it was unlike anything I’ve ever done, and that took some muscle,” Squerciati said.
Voight Actor Jason Beghe Does Have Ties To Chicago In Real Life
Looking at some of the cast on Chicago PD, it’s obvious that one main character is Voight.
Well, actor Jason Beghe actually does have some ties to Chicago in real life.
His dad was born and raised in Chicago. Then, per The Washington Post, he went on to become a tax court judge. His mother attended the University of Chicago, had Beghe’s brother lied in Chicago as an adult.
Also, his grandfather was in the Chicago Symphony and his great-great-grandfather was a two-term governor in Illinois.
